I KNOW this has been posted before and I even Google searched other forums and found my answer (somewhat.)
This question is about coil storage I want to know if what I'm doing is considered wrong.
So I only have 6 juices or so (I just bought 2 more tonight.) What I've been doing when I want to try a new juice since my flavors are all somewhat different is taking out the coil, wiping it down a bit with a q-tip and putting it in a zip lock baggie keeping in mind to release as much oxygen as possible before I seal it. I notice a couple days later that the cotton is pretty saturated still.
#1. Is this unsafe? Since the cotton is moist do you think there could be bacteria growing? I know once the coil fires it would kill some, but since the cotton doesn't get that hot, could I be exposing my body to harm?
#2. Is this gunking up and prematurely killing the life of my coils? I noticed when I returned to Sugar Drizzle the coil was kinda sticky and cotton very wet.
I tend to change flavors once or twice a day max for now as I'm still exploring. It would be kind of a pain to clean, soak them in some type of alcohol and then dry them when I could be returning to that flavor the next day. I'm trying to keep the process simple, but yet don't want to prematurely kill my coils as I'm using the OCC coils I bought with my Kanger Topbox Mini until my kanthal, cotton and ohm meter gets here.
Insight or suggestions?
