Am I the only one who does on-the-fly mixing?

A few months ago, I quit pre-mixing my own juices, and I've taken to mixing the ingredients on the fly.
In my bag, I usually carry:

- One 30 ml bottle of plain VG
- One 10 ml bottle of 18 mg nicotine VG base
- 5 or 6 10 ml bottles of DIY concentrate, normally meant to be mixed 1 part in 5 to 1 part in 4 - either bought as-is, or pre-made by me from 2.5% flavorings.

Most of my RDAs are refilled with 10 drops of juice. So what I do when I sit down somewhere and I have time to drip properly, I pull my bag out and mix on the fly.

For instance, if I want a discreet flavor and no nic, I drip 1 drop of concentrate first then 9 drops of VG. Next refill, if I want more flavor, I'll stick 2 drops of concentrate and 8 drops of VG. Next refill, if I fill like some peppery nic added, I'll do 2 concentrate, 7 VG and 1 nic base. Or maybe 2 concentrate, 6 VG and 2 nic base. Or maybe 8 VG and 1 nic base for no flavoring and a little peppery taste. It just depends on my fancy of the moment.

If I'm walking or I'm in the car, I just do straight VG - which is what I usually vape anyway.

On-the-fly mixing has quite a few advantages:

- The variety is amazing: it feels like having 50 kinds of juices from a mere few bottles in a small bag.

- Unlike pre-made juices, it requires no steeping. I surmise that the heat from the atomizer when I press the button does the trick instantly.

- Some flavorings tend to go bad when they're pre-mixed and the juice becomes too old. When they're mixed on the fly, the flavor is always fresh.

- It requires very little extra effort. I mean, if I'm sitting at a bar table, I just leave the bottles open and drip this-and-that as I go. In fact, it keeps my hands occupied, which is cheaper than a fidget spinner :)

- I don't have to spend an entire afternoon every other week-end mixing juices and ultrasounding the bottles.

Am I the only one who does this?

I would never do that, too much trouble when all I want is a vape. I don't steep; I use sufficient flavoring to make it unnecessary (unless it's one of my rare mixes with some tobacco flavoring, those do require a long steep). It doesn't take all afternoon to mix up 10 days' worth of ejuice (56ml of the same strawberry & cream I've vaped since Dec 2014). And I don't do flavor hopping either; just like when I smoked, I want the same flavor that I'm used to, consistently. Now and then I might vape something different just for the pleasure of it, but that's not my "regular vape," that's just a treat, like eating a cookie or slice of pie, but without calories. :D

Take VG 30ml and add 15 drops and nic 3mg mix and hit that shit...... Some Let it sit 24 or 48 hours.... And hit that shit...... If Flavor is missing add 5 drops of you don't get a buzz add 1ml of nic...... It's not rocket science......

You will notice that ejuice acquired taste with steeping......

Once you have the taste you found right .... You know the basic formula..... And you can hit that shit all night long..........

Yeah well, I know how to mix and steep juice, thanks. I've done gallons of the stuff over the years. It's just that I'm tired of it, I like being able to change the "formula" almost in real-time, and I frankly can't taste much difference with steeped juice (apart from when the juice goes bad after steeping, which happens).

Now I'd rather buy concentrate and use it rightaway than mix it, wait, and then realize I get tired of the damn juice after 5 minutes and I still have the rest of the bottle to go through.

That's precisely why I don't steep. I also don't cook a meal and then set it in the pantry to age for days or weeks. :giggle:

But when I wanna vape, I don't wanna be mixing with every farking puff. I do that every 10 days, so when I want a vape, I have a vape, not a science project.

I mix by the liter, my mixes need steep time. carry at least 60ml with me every time I leave the house.

Come to think of it, I know why it's not a PITA to me: vaping has long passed the state of smoking cessation tool for me, and it's moved on to being a pleasurable thing to do in its own right.

Back when I smoked the cigar, that too was for strictly for pleasure. The whole ceremonial that went with it - wetting, cutting, heating, lighting up - was part of it. I kind of view all the fiddling I do with my bottles the same way: it's an activity that adds to the enjoyment of the vape itself.

Anyhow, if nothing else, it puts the brakes on my chain-vaping, which can't be a bad thing...

Yeah, I was thinking it's kind of the diff between those who buy packs of smokes, and those who roll their own, as and when needed -- the latter probably smoke a lot less! :D

But, if I didn't need to vape in order to head off thoughts of smoking... I'd probably quit, at least mostly, as a regular everyday thing; I'm really hoping I can EVER get to that point, because my asthma would sure appreciate it! :giggle:

Doubtful. I could roll one and light up at a very short stop light. Haha

Edit: .....in a thunderstorm....with no doors or top on my old jeep. True story. Lol
