That goes pretty low (resistance). I like the color schemes.5000 mah is beast...

Button on top? Yikes. Deal breaker for me.

But more choice in TC mods is good: it means the price of the TC mod I do want will drop :)

The stripes remind me of a 1969 Camaro, very retro. LOL

Yeah. Or a Honda Civic rice racer. Not very desirable...
I'd go with the Camaro or Chevelle......let those Honda and Acura kiddies keep thinking they're fast. LOL

If you build .15ohm thats around the 30a range. So it supports 30a and 5000mah? What witchcraft is this?

Same.

Real shame too because i kinda dig the look and actually have some faith that Joyetech wouldn't put out a stinker of a TC chip with their name on it like Smok did.

My search for a cheap out and about TC device to compliment my not leaving the home desk SX mini continues...

This will be a precursor to their Istick temp control mods. I would be game to buy this if they fix or address the issue's with their 50 watt Ifiresticks. Until then hell no.

If you look closely at the stripes and color combos, all 3 are '15 cobra production colors/stripes.

I'm not a fan of inboard batts but I'd pick one up if I had the extra cash.

Check out the heatvape invader mini. It's a tank. Chip is similar to a dna40 and it works well. No spring loaded pin, so gets excellent connection, and it has an adjustable ring on top instead so it fits all your devices flush (similar to provari p3 ring). 50 watt device, uses an 18650 and you can get them for $50-$60. It's waterproof and crush proof.

Only 2 downsides I've found. No usb for upgrading firmware or charging (that's so it can be waterproof) and after 50 minutes, the device shuts down and you have to 5 click it to restart. That feature is because it's designed to be a rugged out and about device so it preserves battery life and prevents accidental firing

I have no interest in any device with a built in battery. Several reasons why. Don't want to have to rely on onboard chargers (safety and failure reasons), you can't just change battery when it runs out and have a backup, don't want to have to toss it when battery has gone to shit. And my biggest reason is with all the impending legislation, I want devices where if they try and ban or tax stuff heavily, all I need is batteries, cotton and wire, all of which will always be available.

More of a first look (and a long one at that) than a review, but it does look interesting. Not interesting enough to pre-order, but I'll be taking a look at this once the inevitable v1 bugs are worked out:

You gotta love the power of marketing: whoever came up with this line to pass cheap-ass connectors off as a desirable option is a genius :)

No spring-loaded pin is precisely the reason why I will NOT get an Invader Mini.

I don't know if it is a marketing ploy or not. It could be I suppose but the Heatvape has a cap ring that adjusts so a solid flush connection is made and it seems to work well. Also if the 510 threads get messed up the ring could be replaced. Time will tell on the longevity of the device.

Normally I would agree with you, but in this mod it is purpose built to resist moisture so I have to agree with the design limitation here. I think a spring loaded 510 would have compromised the moisture protection. I do prefer spring loaded, but I just can't fault the design decision in this mod, it makes sense in this case.

It says "temperature protected" vs just a few listings with the phrase "temperature controlled" at focalecig. Is it just a Chinese vs American thing happening or is there a difference?

It's all in reference to the same thing.

Last i knew, the "proper" forum term was Temperature Limiting, or TL (instead of TP or TC). I think.....

I won this eVic kit from the giveaway and will be sure to post some feedback about what I receive.

The temp control feature looks pretty impressive, they go into it on the 19 minuet mark on the youtube video above.

If you end up not liking it I'd trade you a ipv4 for it

Temperature protected is where if the device overheats where it might be a danger it will shut down and you will receive a temperature error most regulated devices already have this in place. Temperature controlled is where the user has the option to control the max temperature of the vape he receives
