Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of the Sikary SunL and Spark Pod Kits. Note this product is a retail version sold at ECC Ontario 2018.

Introduction:
The SunL and Spark are 2 of the latest devices from a little known company named Sikary. I actually reviewed their SKE box a long time ago which was a nice device but not a vaping trend and fell under the radar. Would probably do much better in today's market if it was released now. Either way I’m doing a double review of 2 of their latest pod systems because they both share the same pods. The SunL is a simple flat rectangle style tiny pod system while the Spark is a small pen styled pod system. The SunL is available in 3 colors Silver, dark grey, and rose gold and the spark is available for 21.25 on their site and the SunL i couldn’t find a listed price.

Spark Specs:
  • Stainless steel construction
  • 1.8ml capacity
  • Adjustable airflow
  • Smoke bomb resistance: 2 ohms
  • Battery capacity: 350mah
  • Air switch, full power output, working watts of about 12W
SunL Specs:
  • Size: 10.5x 32.5x 70.2mm

Spark Rundown
The Sikary Spark is a flat thin pen shaped AIO (all in one) Pod kit, meaning there isn’t a separate mod or tank that can be used with anything else. It does have replaceable pods so you can carry spares. It’s quite small though and very easy to pocket. There is no adjustable air on this device. It’s a MTL vape not super tight but not loose either. It has a capacity of 1.5 ml and barely uses much juice at all. The battery is listed at 350mah so small battery but understandable for its size. It features built in USB charging but they don’t list charge rate. It does have passthrough vaping as well which is great. The drip tip is proprietary and is a cap on the pod and is pretty comfy to use. The Spark is nicely built and feels solid. The coloring is beautiful. I have the blue one and it’s got a shiny metal finish.

Usage is pretty easy. It’s an inhale to fire device. Sadly this device did not work well at all in that regards often misfiring or stopping firing while vaping. It wound up being quite frustrating and really ruined the device for me. Hard to get a solid vape from it. The LEDs are nice and bright and on the top and in 3 pinholes. The LEDs act as a battery meter and to alert you of safety protections kicking in. White means 3.8V or more, Blue is 3.6-3.8V and red is under 3.6V. Very well done. It’s a direct output device listed at 3.3V to 4.2V

SunL Rundown
The Sikary SunL is a flat thin rectangle shaped AIO (all in one) Pod kit, meaning there isn’t a separate mod or tank that can be used with anything else. One of the smallest if not the smallest Pods i’ve used. It features built in USB charging but they don’t list charge rate. It does have passthrough vaping as well which is great. The drip tip is proprietary and is a cap on the pod and is pretty comfy to use. The SunL is nicely built and feels solid. The coloring is beautiful. I have a color not listed so may have been an ECC only thing which is a black and copper splash design. It’s a matte finish and feels smooth and soft. Really nice device.

Usage is pretty easy. It’s an inhale to fire device. Unlike the spark, the SunL worked perfect for me every fire with no issues so this was the device that mostly got the usage of the pods as i couldn’t really use the spark due to the autodraw issue.

Coil Performance and Pod details
The Pod itself is really easy to fill. To remove the pod just pull up on it. It was easy to grip to pull in or out. Very well done. It comes with an empty pod and the coils are built into the pod like the Wismec Motiv 2 or rincoe Ceto. The pods just click into place. They are easy to remove and stay in place perfectly. To fill them pull out the pod, then take off the rubber plug on the bottom where 2 holes are plugged. The fill hole is a good size but needs a fine tooth bottle still. The pods are not tinted which is nice and the level is easy to see on the spark, however the SunL oddly does not have a cutout to see juice level so you need to remove the pod to check.

The reason i’m reviewing these together is because they use the same pods. Each comes with 2 pods which is great. All pod systems should include a spare so i got to use 4 total. There is only 1 type of pod for these which uses a 2 ohm coil. With that said the pods were not good at all. Worse case they would die before using a full pod. Best case i got about half a pod of decent performance and then was barely able to finish the pod before it died. They need to redesign these coils. Just not good at all. I think i was able to maybe vape 4ml total between the 4 which is not good. Normally I look to get 10ml per pod as a good number and this was a 1ml average. I used all 50/50 nic salt juices 20-25 mg nicotine.

Pros Spark:
  • easily removable pods
  • easy to refill
  • nice looks and simple shape
  • decent battery size for such a small device
  • great battery meter
  • nice mouthpiece
  • easy to see juice level and non-tinted pod
  • comes with 2 pods
  • color options
  • Passthrough vaping
Cons Spark:
  • just decent 1.5 ml capacity pods
  • Inhale to fire didn’t work well
  • coil performance
  • coil life
Pros SunL:
  • easily removable pods
  • easy to refill
  • nice looks and simple shape
  • decent battery size for such a small device
  • great battery meter
  • nice mouthpiece
  • Inhale to fire worked well
  • comes with 2 pods
  • color options
  • Passthrough vaping
Cons SunL:
  • just decent 1.5 ml capacity pods
  • coil performance
  • coil life
  • easy to see juice level and non-tinted pod
Conclusion
So with all that said, do I recommend these Pod or not? I don’t like to do a hard yes or no but these have to both be no based on the coil performance. The spark itself never worked right at all so really just not impressed with the device. The SunL however is a nice device and if the pods were better and they added a juice window could have been good. But as it stands now can’t recommend either of these and won’t be adding them to my list of recs linked down below.

This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.

I’ve been doing vape reviews since late 2016 and have done around 200 reviews to date. I enjoy helping vapers on forums as well and helping contribute to the great vape community. I’m not an “out of the box” reviewer. I do my best to be thorough at all times and have enough experience with many products to tell what’s good and what’s not. All mods get tested with an oscilloscope and stress tested and results are posted in my reviews.
