Kit Rundown
The Joyetech Exceed Edge Is a Pod style AIO (all in one) kit, meaning there isn’t a separate mod or tank that can be used with anything else. It’s a miniature one at that with a pen shape that’s not very long but a little on the fat side. It’s features a bottom airflow that has a loose MTL vape. Air is non adjustable like most pods. It has a good capacity of 2 ml and barely uses much juice at all. The battery is listed at 650 mah and has pretty good life thanks to the low power output (max 25 watts listed but realistically under 15 watts). It features built in USB charging but they don’t list the rate. Still it charges pretty fast. I didn't time it but charging from a laptop USB it seemed around 1-2 hours to charge. The shape the mouthpiece is very comfortable, kind of like the recorders we learned to play in elementary school but smaller

It has 2 red LED lights on it. It’s on the bottom of the mod. It’s on when the pod is in use and stays on for a few seconds after a hit to tell you the battery life. If it stays lit it’s 60% or higher charged, If it flashes slowly it’s 30-59% charged, if it flashes moderately it’s 10-29% charged, and if it flashes fast its under 10% charged. It also stays on while charging and turns off when the pod is fully charged. Filling the pod is very easy just pop out the the mouthpiece (which is also the pod itself), and there is a rubber plug on top to refill. Use a fine point bottle to fill it. Filling is very easy. The pod itself is not really tinted (very slight tint) so juice level is easy to see. I like that a lot. Since the mouthpiece is also the pod, you don’t need to remove anything to see the full pod and the level which is great. Usage is very easy, there is one fire bar on the bottom you squeeze to fire. There is no inhale to fire option. 5 clicks turns it on or off. Overall a very easy to use and nice little vape pod. It’s also built quite well with a metal body but plastic fire bar and the coloring is beautiful on it but it’s a fingerprint magnet for sure. It does feature pass-through vaping as well.

Coil Performance and details
The kit comes with a 2 coils which are the only kind available for the Joyetech Exceed Edge. I’m happy they included a spare personally. They list it as a 1.2 ohm coil. I’m not sure of the material, I’ve seen some sites list it as nichrome, but the joyetech website does not specify which normally means kanthal. I have no way to confirm which one it is. The coil itself is also replaceable instead of the whole pod having to be replaced. You just unscrew the metal base holder which is ribbed for grip and unscrew the new coil head on it, then screw it back in the pod itself. As far as the actual coil performance goes. The flavor was decent for a pod system. Obviously you have to consider the type of device isn’t going to be a flavor monster by most people’s definition including my own, but there was some flavor. I used only 50/50 30 mg nic salt juices in it. The coils however, didn’t perform or hold up very well. My 1st coil had spit back issues from the start and tasted pretty burnt after 6ml. I took that apart and you can see in the pics above it’s pretty burnt. My 2nd coil i’m only on 6ml as well but i’m just sick of having juice leaking into my mouth. Maybe it would do better with a thicker juice, but that’s not really what pods are made for and that lowers the throat hit as well, which is already not very existant. It feels like the mod is too underpowered for the coils. The puffs are pretty weak, it takes about 3 seconds before you get any vapor at all and it leaks juice through the mouthpiece into your mouth. I wasn’t happy with the performance of both of my coils doing that

Pros:
  • Build Quality
  • Color Options
  • Size - (very easy to pocket due to being so small)
  • Looks and style
  • Battery Life
  • Low Juice Consumption
  • great for beginners due to ease of use
  • Charges fast (under 2 hours)
  • price point (under 25 dollars)
  • refillable pods
  • easy to remove pod and fill
  • passthrough vaping
  • easy to see juice level without taking pod out
  • battery indicator
  • firebar
Cons:
  • Coil performance and Life
  • no inhale to fire option
Conclusion
So with all that said, do I recommend this kit or not? I don’t like to do a hard yes or no, but this is going to lean towards the no. It’s really a shame because I love the device itself. It’s pretty much everything I want in a pod system and i’ve used a lot of them and probably the best built one as well. I love the fire bar but would have liked an inhale to fire option as well. But sadly the main importance for something like this is the coil performance. If the coils perform better I would give it a yes, but the coils were both bum for me so I have to give it a no.

This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.

Review Disclaimer
I review products for what they are with no account of where it comes from or who makes it. The test results are the results for what is in my hand. Due to possible QC difference your experience may vary. There is no way for myself or anyone to predict if a device will last 6 months, 1 year, 5 years etc. Any manufactured item from cars to phones to computers to mods have a possibility of arriving DOA or having a small percent failure rate. There is no way to predict this or quantify this. That’s why warranties and lemon laws exist. I can only review what I have in my hand for better or for worse. Contrary to popular belief, there is no special review samples of higher quality. Most of the time personally i get retail versions, the few times i’ve gotten early releases they are usually worse than the final retail version.

Reviewer Disclaimer
I decided to add this disclaimer in as i feel it’s important for people to know their source of the review. I’ve been vaping since late 2011. I’ve vaped all the styles from MTL to RLH to DTL. tanks, RTAs, RDAs, you name it. I do prefer the DTL and RLH style over MTL personally. My main focus from an atomizer is flavor. For mods i’ve used mechs and regulated mods. I’m an avid temp control vaper but enjoy power mode as well and the occasion mech useage for nostalgia. I’ve been doing reviews since late 2016. As of Jan 2018 I’ve done over 100 written reviews and done over 150 video reviews on my channel, Although i’ve taken a break from videos in the past few months to focus on written reviews.

I spend a lot of time helping vapers on forums as well and try to answer all the questions and comments on my reviews. I’m not an “out of the box” reviewer. I do my best to be thorough at all times. All mods get tested with an oscilloscope and stress tested. At times if needed i’ll disassemble them as well. Rebuildables get multiple builds in them. Tanks i use all coils until the die or a minimum of 2 weeks if they don’t die sooner. I do this for the community to help people find good products and avoid bad ones. In my opinion a reviewer works for the community and nobody else. It’s our job to inform vapers of issues and not be advertisers as well as provide constructive criticism from a place of knowledge back to companies with these reviews so they can improve and make better products in the future.

lol your really not.

it's odd on the pics, I changed it because many people requested i put it all in one album, easier to view on mobile and most people use mobile nowadays but you are the 2nd person to mention issues with the album though so i'll take that into considerations
