so, i'm not sure this is the correct sub-forum for this, but i couldn't find anything closer.
i'm looking to replace a chip in a mod i have, and i'm a little out of my depth here. over a year ago i purchased a geeco zero clone, the 60watt tc version, i was new to vaping and had no idea were to get my hands on a real zero, and i loved the look and feel of the classic C frame mod. now this mod was pretty cool, but the chip was pretty crap, no idea who makes it or anything at all about it, and i don't think it was anywhere near accurate. i let a friend use it, he didn't understand that it had an adjustable 510 pin as opposed to a spring loaded, and when the mod stopped firing or reading correctly he pushed the end of a paper clip into what he thought was a "reset" hole, but was actually the led for the charging port, usb port didn't work after that. figured i could disassemble it and take a look at what was going on inside, and i could see no way to fix it, or even determine what exactly had been broken. so i had a thought that i could replace the chip in this thing with a new one, preferably a different, more accurate chip. i'm willing to shell out the money and time to do this, i just need some direction or guidance. anyone done this? the board is in three pieces in the mod, with the usb port and up/down buttons being on connected smaller board pieces. does anyone know of a chip that would fit this mod? please tell me one of you out there has retrofitted one of these and has a handy "how-to guide" just sitting there waiting for a situation like this.
