We are sort've got off the subject of what gunks up coils relating to vaping..lol
And if your looking for a mod to vape the .2 ohm BTDC Arctic coil I would recommend one at least capable of 70w
That said the new 100w IPV4 is coming soon...magnetic batt door and under $100.... Just a thought

mod ;)
thinking on a vv/vw, under 60.00 if i can, for next month and want to snag the arctic..

it might be worth holding out and saving closer to $100.

I got my sigelei 150W for $110, i have seen it as low as $99. I have also seen the sigelei 100W plus for $90-100

I absolutly love my sigelei 150

Just got mine. Wow. Need to order coils soon so I dont go out of commission with this thing. Goblin and Atlantis are going to hit the shelf I think.... Next I've gotta get in the kitchen and mix up the perfect clean juice recipe... Been vaping the sweet and creamy flavors lately. Still max vg of course! Time for an upgrade!

I just two 5 packs of the .2 ohm BTDC
coils from Eciggity... I've got over a week on the coil that came in my Arctic and it's still hitting like a truck..got a feeling these coils will easily go a month, maybe longer

Wow...will maybe you could sign up at Eciggity for an email alert when they get more coils back in stock..but these coils are lasting...won't have to change them out too often...that's an improvement for sure

True and the fact people are discovering what an awesome Subtank the arctic is turning out to be...its in high demand nation wide...one other website I would try is Horizon Tech...they make the Artic and probly would have the coils too..don't know for sure though...

My first day with the Arctic and I'm very pleased! Atlantis on steroids is a good description for this tank both for its performance and how quick it goes through a tank of eliquid. I really hope this one starts getting stocked and didn't get lost in the ether of sub ohm tanks coming out because I'd like at least a couple of packs of coils before I had to rebuild any.

I'm almost glad the replacement coils aren't available ATM. Gives me a reason to wait for a few days to grab one of these. Looks awesomeawesomeawesome.

Anyone ran the 0.5 single coils at 30W? Anyone using these on a mech with any of the coils? Will the 510 work on a hybrid mech? I bet this tank with the 0.2 coils on a SMPL would make me very happy.

@KeyserSoze NO HYBRIDS! I almost vented a battery putting it on my SMPL clone, thankfully it was a Sony and it recovered where a lesser battery would have failed. I've heard of people using them on mech's though! Love this tank!

i am running a 0.2ohm dual coil on a mech mod, i have only run one juice through it (suicide bunny - derailed, estimated 60% VG), it can keep up with my chain vaping :)

ETA- i am running a smok fury-s mech mod, i have not tried it on my SMPL

Fuck! Why do companies keep making great attys that won't work on a hybrid? There's no work around? It's a fixed, unmoveable positive pin? What a shame. At least there's still plenty of uses for my stingray x... I just hate lock out rings and the extra length.

what about a Manhattan clone or FUhatton or even a m6 skyline clone? All of those have non-locking bottons (the m6 has a recessed button)

completely off topic, but have you tried a derringer RDA? have you seen one on a SMPL? - a derringer on a simple is probably one of the most compact 18650 set ups you can get, and the derringer is a great little atty too!

I have a derringer and 3 SMPLs. :) I like the size of that rig. Your stuff is really, really shiny. Here's a cute lil setup.

Now more on topic, I'm proud to be a part of the Arctic owners club! The B+M I spend most of my lunch breaks at has the 0.5 single coil version. I figured it's still a step up from the atlantis so I grabbed it. Will get the 0.2 dual coils when they are available.

Got it rinsed off, let it air dry while I mixed up some 80VG spicy peach juice for it and filled her up. Took a shower while the wick soaked and just vaped it for the first time. NICE. Was surprised that wide open AFC wasn't as balls-out-crazy-open as I thought it was going to be. Granted, my go-to RDA's are MutationXs so I'm used to zero restriction. It does have more flow than the Atlantis but I'm not sure how it'll be at upwards of 50W. Running it at 30W on my Sigelei Mini 30 atm. Definitely more flavor than the Atlantis, even on the first session of a new wick.

I'm not sure I'll need much more than 50W though. It's damn chucking at 30. Going to start looking around for a DT that leaves the I.D. open (as big as the chimney) but isn't as big on the outside. I don't get the funnel approach to DTs, aside from looking like it's got more flow. Seems like letting the vapor re-expand right before your mouth might decrease flavor a little too. The derringer DT is great because the ID is big enough but it's so short the top of the tank hits my chin. Need something like the derringer DT but a little longer. A quick scan of the lab table shows other DTs have a smaller ID than the Arctic chimney. I guess I'll have to try them all just to make sure they aren't perfect! Like, now

***A WARNING TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT GETTING AN ARCTIC TANK***

Learn how to DIY juice before you fucking get it. Either that or sell a fucking kidney to buy all the fucking juice you're going to go through with this fucking thing. Goddamn it's awesome. But only because I DIY. At least with a dripper you have to stop every few hits to drip. With the arctic you can just go right through 3ml of juice in the time it takes to think "ffffffuuuuuccccckkkkkk yyyyyyeeeeessssssssssssssss". I mixed 10ml tonight thinking that would be enough to get me through the work day tomorrow. The arctic just chuckled at that notion. Oh well, I needed to tweak that mix anyway. I guess when this bottle goes dry mid day tomorrow I'll have to use a dripper and a different juice to get me back home... Life is so hard. :(

Have to agree. Its worse @ 75W. I think the coil is the restriction, there's little difference in draw from full open to half closed.

Its easy to modify the Artic pin to protrude to work on a hybrid..notice in the pic I've got the Artic on my copper BFM that uses the hybrid top cap..I simply pushed the pin out and filed down the 510 threads to make the pin protrude to work safely on my BFM..I might add it hits great with the .2 ohm BTDC..simple fix

This is a pic of making the pin protrude enough to work vaping the Artic on my BFM with the hybrid top cap safely..I simply pushed out the pin and carefully filed down the 510 connector.. It protrudes about 2mm and works great!

You sexy beast. Thanks for the tip! The pin just pushes out from above? That looks like a lot of filing...Thought about using some sandpaper on a piece of wood myself.

Actually its not a lot of filing at all..take the coil out of the base then use a small diameter rod or screwdriver to push the pin out of of the bottom....next I screwed the 510 connector on the base into an upsidedown Hybrid cap....then using a flat fine grain file I carefully filed down the 510 connector taking a couple threads and making sure it was filed flat all the way around.... Next was to clean the filed threads from any burrs by simply unscrewing it from the upside down hybrid cap...reinstalled the pin into its white insulator in the base and installed the coil, like in the pic..took all of 15 min

I couldn't tell you how many times I've put a nut on a screw or bolt before cutting it down for an easy re-die afterwards. Would I have thought to use the top cap of my 4nine for this project? No, probably not. You have saved me a lot of trouble Smacksy. Hugs.

I knew that piece of shit 4nine would have more use than an atty stand someday. Arctic on a SMPL! That shit is happening on Saturday.

Whoa. If the button isn't recessed very far (as with a few of my attys) I can take the posi pin back out, file it and the threads down a little more to recess the SMPL button some more? Either I'm a genius or a dipshit right now.

I certainly will.

Do you think filing the top of the positive pin (the coil end, not the part that touches the battery) AND the negative threads would shorten the entire thing so that a SMPL button would recess more? As long as I don't too far and make the thing not work at all, it seems like it could work.

I'm not familiar with the SPML enough to say either way, sorry!
But I do know filing the 510 connector down a few threads made my arctic vape safely on my BFM shown here that uses that same type hybrid top cap... I might add it still works on my VW box mods that use a floating 510 connector too..
Again I don't know that much about the SPML to say if it would work or not. :(

No worries, I'll let you know when I find out. On the SMPL the button assembly threads into the tube until the battery is squeezed between the positive pin and button's outer threads. Long 510's on attys (hobo, magma etc) make the button protrude from the tube. Pretty annoying.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming... The arctic. It's sweet.

I took Smacksy's advice and filed down the negative threads on my 510. It filed down easily and now sits on my SMPL nicely. The button recesses more than maybe any atty I have. Super cool.

With the single coil 0.5 coils it hits good enough (and that was with a less than fresh battery). Can't wait to try it with the 0.2 duals. I wonder how different the vape is with the 0.5 duals vs the single coil 0.5s....

One thing I noticed about my Arctic. The positive pin was installed slightly crooked. 2 problems with that, one minor, one possibly major.
Minor problem, connection with the battery could be better.
Potential major problem, the insulator is pretty damn thin on one side. Gonna keep an eye on that booger.

Thanks again to Smacksy for allowing me to put my favorite shiny new atty on my favorite mech mod. That's a hell of a gift! :D

I tried the .5 dual coil but the .2 dual coil hits a lot better.....the .5 dual coil hits great on my 150w IPV3 at 45w (about 4.8v)...its a little lame on my mech that can only deliver about 3.8v due to voltage drop, but like I said the mech vapes the .2 ohm dual coil great...almost as good at 65w on my box mods...
I'm glad it worked out for ya!

I guess my main question is why is your IPV3 still only 150W? ;) I like the extra decimal place on the resistance and voltage that comes with the update.

Who in the hell vapes at 150w, let alone 165w?....not me, that's for sure, Lol...I really don't need the extra decimal in the display as I test my builds, and the store bought coils, on a separate ohm meter anyway...in the pic you can see the dark horse on the copper BFM, the Atlantis w/7ml tank on my black IPV3, the Arctic with the .2 ohm coil on my silver IPV3 and the Artic with the .2 ohm coil on my stainless BFM...I still got a couple 18650 copper XXIX mods that are on the shelf...figure 4 mods setup and running at the same time is enough, lol....but like I said I really don't need to upgrade my IPV3's....they work superbly for me stock...

Fair enough. I mainly wanted to see how much the IPV3 and my regular 510 ohmmeter disagreed. I have hit it at 165W but just to say that I did it.

Nice family you have there!

I hear ya....highest I went was 125w and that burnt my cotton ..
Because dripping is so messy (for me anyway) I run my RDA's on my my mechs mostly....dual parallel 24g coils at .12 ohms blows good clouds on the BFM/Dark Horse as I was having fun fogging up my room under the blacklight...Arctic, as good as it is, doesn't even come close, lol

just picked one up today for my sig 50.. the replacement coils are a little steep but i will primarily be using this for driving in the car so i dont think ill be going through them too fast. im not the biggest fan of tanks but if any of them will chang my mindset itll be this one for sure.

Ditto. This fix worked perfect. Anyone try this on an Atlantis? Thanks for the tip @smacksy !!!

Nice pic of your setups too. I also walk around with 4 or 5 mods sometimes. Sigelei 100+ with the Arctic @ 75=-80 watts, SMPL with the Billow tank (0.2 ohm build, so ~58 watts), Dovpo eLVT 30 watt box with the Atlantis @30, and a couple of custom dual 18650 (mosfet, series) boxes I 3D printed and built, one with the UD Goblin tank (~117 watts, 0.6 build), and one with the Dark Horse (again ~117 watts, 0.6 dual parallel). And I jumped on that IPV4 preorder. Haha.

As you can tell, I'm into tanks, rebuildable and prebuilt coils alike. I think alot of people are missing out on some great tanks because they haven't tried the right one with the right build, juice or power. If they think that an Atlantis is as good as a tank can be, they've missed all the awesome developments since! Only problem with big wattage tanks? You really do have to make your own juice. I could never afford to vape 20-30 bucks worth of juice EVERY DAY! As a DIYer though, that number is more like
$1.50 per day :D

Just curious as to what tanks your saying are better than the Atlantis? I got the the new cotton coils for it and flavor/vapor improved..But still not as good as the .2 ohm Arctic...Ive heard there is another new subtank coming out soon called the Starre that might be even better than the Arctic ..don't think many vendors have it yet....will check one out when hits my local vape shop..
Also I've got the Kayfun on a Provari, which is so lame these days it's back in the box it came in...lol
So like I was asking, what tanks are you saying are soo good? Enlighten us plz..I'd like to know what I may be missing..lol

I want to try those new cotton coils. Arctic of course was included in that statement. Otherwise.... UD Goblin. Silverplay. After extensive experience with both, no comparison with the Atlantis. Way better flavor, higher wattages... huge airflow and clouds! Both rebuildable of course! Not sure about the star tank you mentioned but the VCT from smok, or their Gimlet tank are supposed to rock. Everyone says the Delta II is an Atlantis killer too, though I can't speak from experience on those last 3. All of these tanks jumped off from the idea the Atlantis started back in December. Amazing to see the improvements in 3 short months. There's a comprehensive sub ohm tank thread which has been fairly active and covers many of these tanks. Hope this helps clear up my opinion. @smacksy :)

It did some....but you're right, 2015 is off to a good start...but I'm not sure just how much better subtanks can get..I like both the Arctic and Atlantis for good airflow.. Some of those tanks I've tried like the Kanger was just too tight for my liking...
King of the clouds is still my RDA's..Right now top dog is the Dark Horse with a .12 ohm build on my mech.....something I can't duplicate on my IPV3 with any tank so far...when I can find a Subtank with wide open airflow and can produce the vapor/flavor of my RDA's I'll be sure to get a couple...best bet for me right now is be happy (vape)
with what I've got...thx for your reply
