ASMODUS will no longer be carrying out warranties on P4Y mods after June 30th.

Despite mostly good products, P4Y has developed such a bad business reputation that many vendors have ceased doing business with them. I got my ipv4 yesterday so I will say that I am disappointed, but I am not surprised. Good luck to anyone who has to deal directly with them for warranty issues.

Might want to pull your charging board out then. It seems to be causing the most problems on the IPV4. Clipping it out and heatshrinking then tucking the cable ends back in fixes that issue.

Hello,

We are KMG Imports & KMG Wholesales. We wanted to take a moment to assure everyone on Reddit that, while asMODus has indeed ended their warranty service relationship with Pioneer4You regarding their iPV line of products, warranty services will still be available.

As of the end of this week KMG, in partnership with Pioneer4You, is opening a North American Warranty Service Center in Irvine, California. Our facility will be dedicated to providing A+ warranty replacement services for all iPV products. We have full-time service technicians, a dedicated service call center, and a Return Merchandise Authorization system. The system we put in place will assist with post-production quality control, helping Pioneer4You reduce their defective rates even further by using data-driven reporting to help identify and resolve manufacturing defects.

Feel free to visit our webpage dedicated to these services at http://kmg-import.com/ipv-warranty-service-center.html

Our companies have been focused on providing authorized distribution of Pioneer4You products into the North American market since the beginning of this year and believe we will bring a best-practices approach to how we assist customers through our service center. We believe that in a crowded marketplace, service, (especially post-sales service) is the best reason to buy these products.

Please feel free to message our service center directly with any questions at [email protected]

Thanks for the update glad to see your company stepping up to the plate to help the community. Hope to see more your company being active here to help users with their defective devices, will you also be doing warranty work for Sigelei or Yihi ecigar?

Seems to me that I have heard a lot more complaints about asMODus than I have heard about complaints about P4U devices.

Like folks being charged for strange "Service Charges" warranty repairs and a lot of legit warranty issues being dismissed as failures do to the customer abusing the device and then charging for repairs.

While my own experience with P4U devices is sadly limited to my first gen IPV2, the one with the funky acting top sensor switch (which I turned off mostly because personally I did not like using a top mounted switch) the thing is still working like a champ even after a couple of drops and dings. Even the internal charger works like a charm and does not cause the device to catch fire like other devices on the market.

We are glad to be of service. Unfortunately for Sigelei owners, as well as any other brands, our new North American warranty service facility is setup specifically for iPV products. We believe this level of service will be another good reason to purchase Pioneer4You products.

Please let us know if you have any further questions and thank you.

Thanks for posting here Marshall. It's always good to have a company directly interface with their customer base to prevent any confusion and promote a good customer relationship.

One of the primary complaints with Asmodus servicing warranties for P4U was that a device sent in under warranty required the customer to pay for shipping to the servicing facility. Is this going to be the policy of KMG? Or do you have a policy in place for issuing shipping labels as a part of your service? I'm hoping this was part of your negotiations with P4U before finalizing your contract with them. It seems to be an important issue for many P4U customers.

Thanks in advance for responding to my question.

Drone, According to the link they provided, ALL shipping costs will be paid for by the customer.

Thanks. Good lookin' out Big Daddy. So now it's the customer paying shipping both ways. Yikes. P4U just lost some value to me as a manufacturer.

asMODus warranty service seemed like a PITA based on the experiences others have reported in various threads. Hopefully this new company will do a better job. Have to say it is funny to see asMODus claim that they were doing this with no "financial restitution". Sure, like they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. "Do work-get no money" is an interesting business plan.

That said, this is all a "don't-care" to me. Most defects appear shortly after purchase, anyway. If I spend $100 on a device and it has a defect in the first week or so, I know my local shop will take care of me. That's the way they work. If it breaks for any reason after that and I can't fix it myself, I just throw it away. If it was a defect and I see that others are having similar problems with that manufacturer then I stop buying things from them. It's not worth the time and hassle to do otherwise.

Keeps my life simple that way.
