Aspire Pegasus 70 Watt Battery

Is it normal for these units for the battery meter reading half full but the battery is actually almost dead? I thought maybe it's the battery itself but tried 3 different batteries and all reading at half.

Mine fluctuates the bat reading like that too, I find it does that if you only press the fire button down for a split second, but as i hold the button down longer it shows true bat charge level

I hold mine for about 3 to 4 seconds and still reads no lover than half when the battery should be reading almost dead.
