Part of Joker's appeal as a villain is his almost total mystique. We know very little about his past or what drove him to become a psychopathic killer clown. What few details we do know are shrouded in half-truths and couched in misinformation. Scott Snyder took what is arguably the biggest risk of his tenure on Batman by electing to give Joker not just a more defined origin, but a distinctly supernatural one. And it's a risk that pays off in the final chapter of Endgame. Snyder makes certain details about Joker clear without eliminating that shroud of mystery. It's a finale that proves well worth the two-month wait.
