Batman composer Hans Zimmer had a hard time connecting with Ben Affleck's version of the DC superhero.
In an interview with Inverse, Zimmer admitted that it felt jarring to go from composing music for Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy to scoring Batman v Superman, as he felt like he was betraying everything Christian Bale had done with his take on the Dark Knight.
Zimmer spent months trying to come up with something for Ben Affleck to recapture that same connection he had with Bale's Batman, but he ultimately couldn't "quite shake that off." Zimmer finds Bale's performance to be more unresolved and about him witnessing his parents getting killed.
