Battery Charger don't show it's charging?

Hello all,

I recently bought myself a birthday present. A sigelei 150 Watt mod. Love it. I bought two fresh new batteries with it. Now, I started to charge them, and about after two hours or so, it still said it was on the first light. (First light means dead but starting to charge. I have the smart charger. Forgot the brand.) So I tried the batteries, and it charged them. So my question is, if I leave it for too long, will it burn out the batteries? The batteries I have are the PVTSO 3.7V 18650. Any advice?

If you forget and leave them on the charger a little while after they are charged, it shouldn't hurt them because no doubt the charger knows they are fully charged , but I tend to make sure I am around and never leave them on the charger longer than what it takes to charge them up, for example...I never go to bed with batteries charging on a charger or leave the house with them on a charger either. Li-ion batteries are usually shipped and stored at about 3.6v. You may have made some progress in two hours but not likely to have been fully charged. If it is indeed a smart charger it will cut off the charging current when the battery reaches full charge, so no you wouldn't hurt them. Without knowing the battery and charger used it's hard to say but 4 hrs or more may be a more realistic time frame. It's important that your charger be reliable in it's indication that the charge is complete and that it stops charging when it is.

Me too. And what's the mah on the batteries? And do you have a voltmeter (or multimeter) for checking battery voltage?

I did a quick google search on my phone and I took a screen shot this is my charger.

Well, I took a quick peek at those batteries.

I found 1800mAh versions selling on Madvapes and while I forget the constant amp rating, MV for the most part does not sell trash.

Nightcore makes really, really good chargers.

All of the above being said, it should not take much more than 2.5 hours TOPS to charge 1800mAh batteries at a full 1.0 amp charge rate.

But the charger you have purchased at its max charging output it only delivers 0.375 amps or at its highest setting .750 amps.

So my best guess is that at .750 amps it would take about 3 hours to charge those batteries,

And at 0375 amps? I am guessing at least 4 to 5 hours.

Again, I am not personally familiar with that brand of battery. Myself, I would not buy them as they are not well known or reviewed.

And it is alway possible that you got a bum charger.

What I would do is to take the batteries, put them in the charger, put the whole thing on the front porch (just in case) and let the batteries charge until the charger says they are charged.

If the charger never indicates they are charged, after a few hours at its highest setting, you know you have a problem somewhere!
