Battery Safety Question

So I've been having family members (who don't like that I vape, might I add) say that these aren't safe. I'm almost sure they are but I just want to be sure: is my mod safe?

I run:
iPV4s
Atlantis 2 w/ .3 ohm coils
LG HG2 batteries x 2 (18650 3.7v 3000mAh ran in series)
Usually running at 80w

I know it's probably a pain in the ass question but I'm just checking different places just to prove it's alright.
Thanks in advance.

Yes. It is hard to go wrong with regulated mods. Take care of your batteries, when the wrapping starts to peel toss them and get new ones. But in a regulated mod like the IPV4s, it has limits to help ensure the safety.

Many people are very ignorant about the effects and risk of vaping (ignorance is a lack of understanding or knowledge). My hunch is that no matter what info you dig up saying its safe, your family members will still not approve of it. I learned a long time ago not to feel guilty for doing things that others don't approve of. It's not their life, its yours. But I will give you some info that may persuade them. Cigarettes have anywhere from 2,000 to 7,000 POISONOUS chemicals in them. Ejuice only has 4 possible ingredients, the base usually being made up of a combination of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, both chemicals that are used in food processing, flavoring and nicotine. There is also 100% vegetable glycerin ejuice, which if it contains flavoring and nicotine would only have 3 ingredients and if it contains either no nicotine or no flavoring, would only be 2 ingredients. Vaping hasn't been around long enough to know the long term effects of inhaling these chemicals, but purely by the law of averages has to be safer than smoking combustible tobacco. That is to say, there is inherently far less risk from inhaling a vaporized substance that only contains 4 chemicals than there is in smoking cigarettes. Also the flavoring used in ejuice is food quality. So what you are inhaling is a food quality liquid that may contain nicotine and is vaporized by an electronic device. I hope this helps.

I use a ipv4 with 2 HG2 and a Crown with .25. I have fired up to 100W. Good to go.

"Safe" is a relative thing. These Lithium-Ion cells contain a lot of energy, and it can be released in a very short amount of time, sometimes with disastrous consequences. You are using quality batteries in a regulated mod, so you're probably "pretty" safe. Just be aware that these batteries are inherently dangerous (I may get flamed for asserting that, but that won't change the fact they are) and that electronics can fail.

There is an element of risk in about anything we do in life. I bet that, with very little effort, you could find no end of risky behaviour in which your critics engage on a daily basis :)
