Hi! bought an dripbox 160w and just build a 0,12ohm coil (dual paralell kanthal 24) And its showing between 2,9-3,5 volts if i fire it, Tested it in a ohms law calculator and it was like 30amp ish.. I got 2 of these 18650 batteries in it (30amp) and i wonder if i need to rebuild or can i go?? Its a regulated mod doesnt know if that make any difference. On the webside i ordered it from it says in the info

  • Ohm:
    Kanthal: 0.2ohm +
    Nickel, Titan & SS: 0.05ohm +
    Nichrome: 0.1ohm +
How's that possible, sitting with an 0,12 coil and can fire it???

While the kanthal coils available for it are 0.2 a look at the manual only states minimums for various TC wires, although nichrome and stainless will work safely in wattage mode as well. In wattage mode it will either fire or it won't. So the minimum is likely 0.1 or at least lower than 0.12. As far as resistance and amp draw with a chip they don't correlate. The chip is in control of the draw, not the resistance of your coil. What governs the amp draw is the wattage you have it set for and the voltage level of the batteries. The lower the voltage level the more amps the chip needs to draw to produce the wattage requested. Not like a mech where the higher the battery level the higher the amp draw. You don't say what "30 amp" batts you are using (labels can be deceiving) or what wattage you are running so whether or not your batts are sufficient is tough to tell. The manual calls for a minimum 20 amp battery. Depending on the make and authenticity your batts may be a legitimate 30 or perhaps 20 or even less.
You might find a test by Mooch of your batteries here https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blog-entry/list-of-battery-tests.7436/ to determine if you are good to go.
