Beast unregulated box mod rebuild help!

I tried rewiring my unregulated beast box. I thought I could just remove the MOSFET chip and run the negative black wire to one of the positive terminals 1437276758222753154048.jpg

I then took the positive wire on the battery terminal and ran it straight to the mechanical switch. The bottom end of the battery holder is a solid brass plate so I didn't think I needed acwire between the two bottom batteries 14372769828121638481767.jpg

My thought was that by flipping one of the batteries I would create a series box with more power.

Any thoughts on why this bad boy won't fire at all? I know my soldering job is ugly but it should still make a good connection right? Do I need to put a MOSFET in to make it fire? Or did I wire something wrong? Any advice is greatly appreciated.. I know very little about circuits or building mods. This is my first time working with both.

you didnt get an answer, but if you havent figured it yet its most likely because you removed the mosfet and now the button is getting no proper love

more info? this looks like a parallel 3.7 build right? what ohms are you attempting to fire? any better wiring pix lol

It was designed to be a parallel build but I made it series by flipping one battery and redirecting the wires. I figured out that the missing MOSFET was the problem. Now I just need to figure out what type of MOSFET to install. I tried a MOSFET from radio shack and fried it immediately. What is a good MOSFET to use on series 18650 mod pushing out up to 50amps and 8.4 volts of juice?

Obviously I am clueless about all this wiring and circuitry stuff lol.:rolleyes: all I know is my current batteries are rated at 25a each and when installed in my lotus le 80 the voltometer reads 8.4v but that MOSFET looks perfect! Thanks and its way cheaper than paying shipping on mouser lol

By the way Shaw I typically fire coils at about 04 down to 0.2 but want to try a coil or two at sub 0.1 ohm (my current mod is regulated and won't fire under 0.2

No worries! Usually on higher waasp

gr builds with higher volts, amps are lower than traditional 3.7v. Follow my thread for some ideas and help and that mosfet thread for a plethora of diagrams

Calculate ohms to make sure u know wjat u want since you are unregulated

.3 ohms @7.4v is like 180w. But @ 3.7v its no where near that. Math is needed. Im on my phone but off the top of my head .15 ohms @3.7v is about 90w, and .6 ohms @ 7.4v is 90w. Thats why math is needed. :)
