Yeah...probably.
I bought my iStick 50w full kit for $55-60, and now you can find them on sale at different vendors for $40-45.
Alot of people are trying to stay away from those 50w iSticks now though.
Screw it...I still use mine plenty.
Might even buy another.:eek::cool:

I love the look of the black, but after the IPV4, I will never do another pre-order, I will wait and see the real reviews on it, and then wait for the price to come down, only be a month or 2 and they will make something new and these will be on clearance :D

I did a pre order with segeli mini and said never again. I waited on IPV4 and all of a sudden it was in stock and had in 2 days. Before a lot of the pre order people. I think I got the mini like 3 days after they had them at all stores. I did get it a little cheaper though.

I'm thinking $60-$70. Kanger would be cutting themselves out of a big chunk of the market if they went higher since the Kbox is being blown out by Vaporbeast.
Thanks for the tip on the Kbox ordered one last night using coupon code yeahbaby and it was like $20 and change shipped.

I received an email fro VaporTechUSA tonight.
They said they're sold out and have ordered more.
Means nothing to me because I didn't pre-order mine from there...
but they also stated that these will be shipping earlier than expected.
Of course they didn't say when....so not sure how much help that is,
but is still good to know....I guess.

Someone ordered direct from Kangertech website and said Black would be shipped June 1 using DHL. White a couple days later.

This looks like the mid-powered single-battery mod I've been looking for...but still going to wait before I post my brand-new iSticks and Kboxes up for sale...

I'm sure they will be once they get the kits out.
Sweet-Vapes site says they will be available after the Subox release. I am going to wait for the non kit tanks, I have too many 30-50 watts mods. That tank though, with black replacement glass, is calling my name. I think that will look awesome on the solid black Kbox.

Anyone got size specs on it yet?
Just judging by what I own....
it looks to be slightly bigger than the iStick 20w and 30w.

I saw a short lame YouTube promo for it.
Looks like it has the same side battery venting as the Kbox.
Does anyone make a trust worthy red battery that will work in it?

LG HE2 or just re wrap any other quality battery you may have.

Any reason why the battery needs to be red?
Just wondering cause you most likely won't be able to see the color of it when it's installed on the mod.
If you want a good battery for this mod get some Sammie's ( 25R or 20R ) or LG chem. ( HE2, HE4 or HG2 ) or Sony ( Vtc3 or Vtc4 )

The battery will show through the vented battery door.
I've decided to either go with the Red LG HE2 or the Samsung 25R and just re-wrap them in Red. :)

Has anyone found any information on the size of the Subox yet? From the pics it looks like it might be a little smaller than a 50 Watt Istick, but its hard to tell.

Looking at the pics with the battery beside it, I'm thinking it's about the same height as a Cloupor Mini, not much more, if any, and about the same depth as the KBox.

I'm hoping its around the size of a 30 watt Istick, but I think its bigger.

I'm really surprised Kanger is this far along in the release process without getting them into the hands of reviewers. Those should be appearing by now. Innokin's Cool Fire IV has been reviewed and that's got about the same release date.

I got an email from Vape Royalty last night.
They said the release should be the 5th or 6th for the pre-orders. So hopefully it doesnt take until the 20th...but we shall see. That would suck if it did.

Pink and Lavender are Nano sized. The Black and White are Mini sized. That limits mixing somewhat. My first choice is to mix up the black and white - then change buttons if possible; all black on black and red with white. Its going to be another month before the pink / purple drop.

Meanwhile check out Cool Fire IV colors.

I bought a few of these on FASTTECH tonight.
Im thinking they might be a good addition to use with the new set-up and black drip tip.
Ive heard conflicting statements of the new black drip tips.
Some have stated its black delrin, but theres a new video out on YouTube where a guy is doing a "first look" video on both the black and white versions.....
He's saying that the white version comes with a plastic drip tip while the black version's drip tip is actually metal.
That being said...the tip will get pretty hot and these might come in handy as well as look pretty nice when paired with the black version.:)

FYI - There are also some nice white and black swirled drip tip insulators there as well, but I think they may be temporarily sold out.:(
That may also happen with these after these mods hit the shelves.;)

I'm still resisting the terribly strong temptation to get in on the pre-order for the Subox.
I'm getting weaker by the day though. Twice today I've filled out the order, but refrained from submitting it.
Ayyyy!

As others have pointed out in the thread, the likelyhood that you'll ultimately end up saving money through a pre-order is slim.

Why sell yourself out of the confirmation value from the first in-hand reviews when you don't save any money, and before sites start falling all over themselves pushing single units on "don't have to buy the kit" prices? ;)

I watched another unboxing video today.
They actually had an iStick 50w sitting on the desk at the time of the video so they quickly did a side by side.
The Kbox Mini is damn near the same size as the iStick believe it or not. Same height and almost as wide too. I couldn't really tell the depth in comparison but that also looked very close. God....why? It only has 1 battery for shits sake! I was really hoping it would be more the size of the iStick 30w but thats out the window. :(
It still should be a little lighter than the 50w but probably not by much.

No doubt. I also really don't want to be a Subox beta-tester with those first units. Wanna wait a couple months for some bugs to get worked out after Kanger gets some real feedback on the product.
I also just want the mod. Not crazy about seeing the finish possibly coming off of the interior of that white subtank. I'm just fine with my polished steel Subtank mini until all that's worked out.

Anyway, thanks for voice of reason, Maz. :)

I think the stores able to offer in-store warrenty on these will sell out first. I'd jump on it then if I had the funds to do it right now. Why not? This hits a price point and feature set that nothing else compares with. Even if the price raises $10 it doesn't make a difference if they are sold out everywhere. A lot of people are waiting for the black subtank to become available. It could feel like a very long chinese holiday to get your hands on one again.

I've seen this happen before in the vaping industry and demand often out strips supply. That's why I do coops so that I get it and the color I want, not because it's all that much cheaper (often it isn't). Price is sometimes secondary. It's not as bad as it used to be, but it's still not that unusual to see something out of stock everywhere. I would get a store warrenty though.

Where was that other video?

With all due respect you may have seen it happen before........but when was the last time?

Generally speaking, the days of demand trumping the supply have pretty much vanished lately, because at the end of the day we are still talking about a fairly small and niche market all these various vendors are trying to cash in on. A lot of which are quality places btw, and # far greater then the 6 or so that hook Joe up to pimp them on rotation.

The Istick 50w was months ahead of curve then where Kanger is now, had a lot bigger wave of hype built up behind it...and could still be found for immediate purchase as soon as those preorders were hitting the states. I don't see this Subox doing what the istick50 couldn't, much less playing out any different then Kanger's cheaper and "no kit gimmick required" Kbox before it. The latter of which held it's initial retail value for what...less then a week before every other site was running sales to move their large stocks?

Idk, had they capitalized on the current craze and included temp control at a great price to make it stand out more from the countless other VW options i could maybe see it. But they didn't, so i can't.

If your expecting temp. control, you are probably in a niche market. Most people don't know what it is, don't understand or care, don't wrap their own coils, don't want another coil to keep track of, and are vaping as an alternate to smoking (not as hobbyists or sub ohmig 0% nicotine). The majority are not on line in forums. Both isticks and subox do step down and there are few others that do. I think Kanger's done their homework on what really matters.

Who couldn't guessed the kbox woud sell at all with limited wattages? I think Kanger knew that most people adjust according to taste and don't pay attention to the numbers. A lot of people are waiting for the tank alone to be release just because of the color. Asethetics do matter, as well as comfort and function. Both SMOK and Sigelei fell down by issuing another box.

It took me months of staking to score a 50w istick after I missed the coop. All I could find was black or silver. Blue and red sold out in hours. I'm getting a bit peaked at always having to spend another $10-$15 on top of retail to get something in a color I want, if a wrap is made for it. It wasn't available instantly unless I wanted to spend an extra $15 over what I knew it should be (+ $15 to wrap it). Vapor Beast's sale of < $20 wasn't a closeout since they've reordered multiple times, anymore than MFS's sale of nautilus at < $15 when they first came out ( that's the only reason I tried the nautilus). The sale pushed a lot of people into a new experience who otherwise would have no idea what they were missing.

Please don't misunderstand, right now we have the ability to customize vape according to what works best for the individual and I'm all for that, whatever that is yet I see manufactueres ignoring intermediate vapers. The subox fixes that.

I guess we shall see.

On the first video, one of the comments asked about white flaking off in the tank and the guy said that it didn't continue doing that. All tanks need washing before use. I haven't seen the second one yet. If it doesn't fit your style, fine but I wouldn't say jumping in on this preorder is dumb either. It's one of the few preorders that could make sense IMO. I wish I could too.

I think the Subox is going to fly off the shelves.

Its a nice simple kit that new & experienced vapers will be drawn too. If it was available when I started vaping a few months ago I am sure I would have bought one. The pre-order price of the Subox is very attractive too. One of my local B&M Vape Shops is offering them for $69.00 Canadian $. I paid $59.00 for my 30 Watt Istick and $45.00 for my Subtank Mini from the same store just a couple months ago.

Edit: I forgot to mention that some of the B&M Vape Shops in my area are still selling the 50 watt Isticks for $69.00.

By default, the majority of those "most people" you refer to there are also not doing online pre-orders, which they otherwise would need to be to support your risk theory. They'll likely go down to their local B&M, see it in stock, and buy it there. Which again, i'm not arguing it won't do very well in that capacity.

If you had that much trouble finding an istick50 when it came out, i'm left guessing you didn't look around hard enough. I ended up snagging 5 of various colors (including pink and blue) as soon as the very first in-hand forum reviews were coming in to flip at work before i even bought mine (weeks latter), since my friends tend to fall into the above "most people" category and our local B&M markup tends to fall on the rather ridiculous side. US vendors and with coupon codes i didn't pay more then $45 for any of them, except the pink which i paid $50 on with free shipping.

On the flip side don't misunderstand me either, as i'm not anti-Kanger here or anything. I actually rather like what they are doing in making a strong play at the budget box market. Heck, i have a $18 Kbox sitting right next to my sx mini m class now, just because it's such a great value buy. My issue here is simply with the notion that people will somehow risk "missing out" in the event they don't jump on the pre-order of this, especially if we are are talking Vapoertek's $65-$70 "deal" that won't likely end up saving you any money.

I mean it's a Kanger product man. This thing is going to be everywhere. Different strokes for different folks i guess, but for me a potential extra 2-3 day wait is worth getting the non-biased confirmation that they actually got their first attempt at non-stripped down feature box right.
