Hi all,

I suppose I should have started here but I wasn't sure what type of forum this was so I first posted in the questions section. But HELLO! And thank you for the warm welcome! :) I was kind of taken aback by the extremely friendly and helpful community when I first posted. I'm glad to have found this site and claimed it as my home for all that is vaping.

As far as my background goes, it's a short story: I've been a smoker for a little over 20 years. I've managed to cut down on my smoking from 2 packs a day to 2 smokes a day but I can't seem to let go of those last couple. Enter e-cigs and vaping. For the last 5 years or so, I've been vaping on and off as a means of substituting smokes. In the last year, I have managed to go 3 months without smoking on two separate occasions by simply vaping instead. Moreover, the first time I used nic-free juice which was a hell of an accomplishment for me as you can imagine :) I find it comes in waves. Sometimes I'm strong and feeling super confident where I could just quit smoking cold turkey. Other times, usually during periods of high stress, I really need a crutch or more specifically, a better alternative.

A few weeks ago I finally made the jump from a pen-style e-cig to an actual mod (Reuleux DNA200) and RDA (Lush). I'm having a heck of a time figuring it all out and have been experiencing very harsh vapor due to a number of factors, namely higher than recommended nic levels and my particular coil build. VU forums have been a lifesaver for me so far! I'm very impressed with the level of intelligent, well thought-out responses I've received so keep 'em coming!

Anyway, before I babble on too much (I said it was it was a short story after all lol), I will end this post here. Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone and I look forward to getting to know you all better in the coming months.

Cheers,

Perilous3D

Welcome to VU

My story is similar to yours. I couldn't drop those last few smokes for over 2.5 years after I started vaping.

I started adding WTA to my juice and was able to drop those last few cigs like a bad burrito

While the majority of folks that quit smoking using traditional juice with nic only, some of us former smokers are more addicted to the alkaloids found in cigarettes and that is why we backslide to smoking - especially during times of stress or we encounter certain triggers. WTA replaces those alkaloids and for most of us with that problem, kills the desire to smoke.

Thanks, all!!

JuicyLucy: That is a really great point and one that I had contemplated many times in the past. I also heard that even the Carbon Monoxide in tobacco smoke can be highly addictive. Go figure! =/ I will have to look into WTA. This is the first I hear of it. Thanks for the suggestion!

I screwed around trying to quit with vaping for over 2.5 years until someone clued me in on WTA. The cravings went away as I was exhaling the first puff. Not everyone needs it, but for some of us, its the only way to drop those last few cigs.

I was a 37-year smoker and couldn't figure out why so many folks would buy a vape set up and quit on the spot, or within days or weeks.

I hope it does help. I was stunned at the difference it made :)

That does help a lot, thanks!

Can you recommend a good vendor? I'm not seeing much while searching. I'm also located in Canada so hopefully the shipping prices are not too high.

I got my first bottle from Wholecig.com

Before it arrived, the company announced they were halting retails sales and would only be selling wholesale. I just used the last of the bottle last week but did buy a wholesale bottle from them because the premixed juices are just so expensive.

www.aromaejuice.com and MothersMilkWTA have it. I don't know if either ships to Canada but you can always ask.

I'm trying to gradually wean myself off of it :)

Ok cool. With this info I should be able to make an informed decision.

Good luck cutting down! :)

Good luck to you too!

Feel free to post or pm if you have any issues with it. The info is indeed scant and I learned from other vapers in the same boat :)
