Best rebuildable coil option for current setup?

Hi all, After promising many questions in my introduction post here comes the first of the onslaught.

I'm on my phone too so apologies if the formatting turns this into an unreadable wall of text.

Ok so I'm using a kanger aerotank with the pre-packaged dual coils along with the kanger ipow2 battery. I've worked up through throw away and gradually more expensive bits of kit and before I go Into the next tier of gear I'd like to play around with rebuilding coils either dual or single if they would work with the current setup.

I'm really just looking for the best way to try it out either using the coils I already use or failing that with some new bit s but without changing too much of my current setup.

Also is there a consensuson the best blow your head off menthol juice around?, preferably readily available in the UK .

Many thanks for any replies and all help appreciated.

Also, while I think of it. I've had conflicting advice to say I should be charging from a usb connected to the wall outlet and also vita usb on my laptop etc.

Is , as I understand, using a usb connected to a device rather than the wall the safer and better for the battery option+

Cheers

Charging via computer is SLOW. Not as much power to the device charged. Either works. Neither in my opinion is "safer". Both are safe.

Is your battery unit a enclosed unit. IOWs, is the battery inside it removable?
How many volts and Mah is it?

The Kanger IPOW2 is basically just a 1600mah ego spinner. When you mention rebuilding coils, are you talking about buying a rebuildable dripping atomizer and using it with your device or just rebuilding your kanger heads?

yeah 1600mah and none removable afaik. for the minute im just looking to play around rebuilding the kanger heads but i'd like to venture into the atomizer grounds but its a bit too expensive and confusing without reading these forums for a few more weeks!!

Not really too expensive. But you are right, with your setup, it won't run an RTA or RBA. A VW device would be ideal for that.

Ask questions, and you will get answers.

Optimally I would get a cheap mech+rda setup. Even if you just want to play around with rebuilding some kanger heads you'll still need to buy wire and an ohm tester, toss in another $25 and you can get a mech+dripper to start with.

Get some old style kanger heads (on the left in picture), 30g or 32g wire, a 1/16" drill bit, ohm meter, tweezers, torch lighter or other small torch, and organic cotton balls from local drug store. Then check out some videos on how to rebuild them. They will perform much better than any stock kanger head. A lot better. Rebuilding them is very easy. Once you're ready, come back and seek advice on build specs if you want.

I never saw a vid on using cotton. I'll have to look it up sometime, thanks!

Never rebuilt them because the vids I saw before used silica. No interest in using that stuff, since I prefer cotton to wick everything else with.

And a RESISTANCE TESTER.... don't think you'd want a short on a spinner battery..

A 1/16" bit fits down in the slot. I use it to hold the coil in place while situating the leads. Then remove the bit and the bore of the coil is perfectly aligned with the bottom of the slot. Thread some cotton in the coil, wet and trim. I was using the dual coil heads, but rebuilding with a single coil so a cotton flavor wick needed to be placed on top of the coil to fill the rest of the slot. Wet and trim flavor wick, install chimney, install silicone chimney seal and done. My son uses an aerotank mega with custom heads I build and an mvp2. The vapor production and flavor is pretty amazing.

Here's a picture of my customized awesomeness. MVP2 with a fatdaddyvapes 510 and an aerotank mega with custom built coil heads. The way starter gear should be.
