Best wrap for the Competition Kennedy

I have a ipv4. It's a good box mod that goes up to 100 watts. I just got the competition Kennedy rda. Curious if anyone has a similar set up. Looking for info on what type of wraps and gauge wire work the best. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @Axl and welcome to VU...hope you enjoy your time here and kick your feet up and stay awhile...it's a pretty cool place :)

Anyways...since no one else has gotten back to you on this I thought I would take a shot in the dark and just give you some sugguestions on my favorite builds that might help you out along the way...having no idea of your building skill level or experience I am just going to give you some sugguestions...take 'em or leave 'em...if you've tried them than I am sorry I did my best.

By the looks of it despite the giant airflow holes this thing looks like it has great flavor potential as well as cloud chasing potential from both the size and placement of the airflow holes...that being said I would recommend trying something like a dual parallel coil build for something simple to start with. Another build, since you have a regulated device and don't have to worry about voltage loss like on a mech, I would try is a Clapton style build....with 24 gauge wire as the inner wire, but instead of round wire I would use .04 flat kanthal wire for the outer wrap and wrap it just tight enough that there is small gaps between the wires...Like in the picture below

I have to run this on a regulated mod, even though it's a single coil build it doesn't vape for shit below 25-30 watts and with the proper wicking likes going higher than that. The small gaps in the outer wire seems to help more juice on the coil and catches well when I drip on it. I really like this build for regulated devices but as a single coil setup it takes too long to heat up on a mech.

Hope this helps...just something to think about...both of the builds I mentioned are super simple...I don't own a drill at the moment and do all my "clapton" winding by hand which takes about a half hour to hour to make a piece of wire big enough to make a coil with but it's totally doable if you're just sitting and watching a movie or something you'll be done before you know it.

With the post holes and airflow holes in that thing (which the more I look at it the more I want it :) ) I would look up on youtube a guy who goes by "twisted messes" ...the guy is a coil building guru and his shit vapes insane....there's a plethora coil building gold there that can keep you busy for weeks. Happy Vaping! :)

ps,,,since you're new here and I don't know how long you've been vaping I have to throw in that if you don't have an ohm's checker you need to get one to make sure you know you're resistance and building safely. Just sayin'
