Minga thats great longevity for the Atlantis coils. I get a week tops with the Atlantis nickel from VS. Then again its about the only coil I use lately and I vape some heavy custards so I'm ok with that but looking for a more flavorful vape.I'm getting a month on Atlantis coils and 6 weeks on Atlantis ni200 coils.
I threw out my lamo2 it was just too lame. I cut some slits in the chamber to help wicking and that solved the wicking problems for the most part, but it was just a pain in the ass all the way around.
the billowv2 is easier to fill, easier to wick and a way better performer all the way around. Building on it is the only thing to get used too.
I put the chimney on and dry burn before wicking to make sure the coils aren't touching the chimney and do any adjustments before it causes a problem especially since I like using it on a mech sometimes.
Oh damn a week, wow! well I use the eleaf coils rather than the actual aspire ones I didn't care for the vs ni200 coils AT ALL! the eleaf ones have better airflow and much better flavor, plus sweet-vapes.com sells them for 12$ per 5 pack.Minga thats great longevity for the Atlantis coils. The lemo 2 is a tough one. I cut the slits too and it did wick better but in todays day, it should not be such a struggle to get a decent vape out of it.
My thought was that I would have to use 28 or 30 g nickle if I wanted to go that way, or simply enjoy the ease of a Kantal build on it using 26 or 28 g.
Thanks again
I did use the Eleaf Melo coils in the Atlantis. I enjoyed the flavor that i got and the vapor was great too. I figured they were almost half the price of Aspire coils so that was a great find. Then out of a pack of 5, most didnt last even a week so I figured it all worked out about the same. Its most likely my vaping style and because I used the same coil exclusively each day. The VS nickle coils were really nice when they came out. Then they started suffering from some QC issues and varying degrees of quality within a 5 pck drove me nuts. Now I see they changed them to a 4 hole air flow base and a much larger coil id. Lets just say these things are far too airy now and you have to crank up the power alot to get these to perform. That led me to the RTA world. I do love my temp device and wanted something that I could use daily with a decent capacity. The lemo 2 doesnt hold enough and is a PITA. So now the Billow V2 is on my radar but the small deck is making me concerned if I want to stay with Nickel....Oh damn a week, wow! well I use the eleaf coils rather than the actual aspire ones I didn't care for the vs ni200 coils AT ALL! the eleaf ones have better airflow and much better flavor, plus sweet-vapes.com sells them for 12$ per 5 pack.
currently I run the SX M mod and do love it for temp control. I have been reading about TI and to me the jury is still out and of course the wire has an increased expense, the grade of TI wire seems to be a problem people are having (dirly, oily etc), and of course I am not totally sold that TI is as safe as it can be for vaping. Been doing some reading on the goblin and others and the billow v2 seemed to get the best reviews but again that subjective to the user and mostly you hear about the negatives more than the positives because when people have bad experiences they write about it. Good experiences are spent enjoying the devices instead of writing about it llololololol. Hell if the billow v2 gives a great flavorful vape with Kanthal, I am not opposed to going that route either. For me its about a good tasting vape now above anything else but again it cant be a PITA to use either hahahWell, not sure what device you use but there is always titanium. I'm personally not a fan of it. But a lot of cats like it, and the billow2 would probably run much better with it than nickel for a tc build. Ive found nickel to perform better in a single coil rta than a dual. In which case the mini goblin, is something I'm exploring if the monster kayfun sucks. Or staying wihj my erlkonigin, that RTA is a dream for tc once you get the wicking down. Or even the erlprinz. Single coil, Great airflow, huge capacity, and super easy to fill!
That sounds awesome and thanks for the input. With your experience with the billows v2 and coils, do you by chance use temp control at all?Two thumbs up on billow v2. Build deck is not as small as some other well-like RTA's, but it is fairly small. Easy fill, maintenance free and the flavor literally can't be touched by any other RTA out there. Trust me, I have most of them I have had dual parallel 26 gauge 8(16) wraps on 2.5 mm, I have had 16 wrap dual coil (not parallel, similar vape quality as the first) and currently have 9 wrap 24 gauge in there. They all work great!
Yea, I use TC... but I keep nickel only in tanks that I have 2 of, or that sucked with kanthal (the Zephyrus). The tanks I have that work well with kanthal, I keep that way because most of my devices are not TC. I'll list what I own or have had experience with below...That sounds awesome and thanks for the input. With your experience with the billows v2 and coils, do you by chance use temp control at all?
Give me an example of what kind of build you think would fit in a tiny space and work well on single coil with TC... Maybe I can try it out for you since I have one literally in my hand at the momentThat's where it may shine, there aren't a whole lot of good airflow single coil attys out there at all. Ordinarily I wouldn't look at something like that, but it 'appears' to have the potential for a decent ni200 build.
Well the most basic would be 8 wraps at 2.5 mm of 28g ni200Give me an example of what kind of build you think would fit in a tiny space and work well on single coil with TC... Maybe I can try it out for you since I have one literally in my hand at the moment
Are we talking about the goblin now with this build? I presume so since the billows v2 is dual coil???Well the most basic would be 8 wraps at 2.5 mm of 28g ni200
I run something similar in dual coil on an aqua2 which is also crammed like a clown car
I do love the thought and feedback receiving from this billows tank and may just pull the trigger on it regardless. Sure would be nice if I could get the nickle in there but if not as long as flavor is there, i am a happy camper. If I wanted to go with nickle most likely have to use 30g or possibly 28. Will have to look at steam engine to see where I should target it atLove my Billow v2s. I ran one with Kanthal, but when temp limited vaping came into my life I converted to Ti Gr1 and added a second Billow v2 also built with Ti Gr1. The only problem I experienced was post screws mysteriously loosening themselves. I solved that by building more carefully. Mine are built to .13 ohms with dual 26g Ti 5/6 wraps on 2.5mm spaced coils. The build deck is tiny but I credit the crowding with the tremendous flavor I enjoy.
I have no problems wicking my 20pg80vg juice. These tanks are winners.
Yes. The Goblin has a plug to block off the second coil. I was commenting on how tiny the build deck is and asking what type of single coil nickel build he would suggest in the Goblin Mini. Are we talking about the goblin now with this build? I presume so since the billows v2 is dual coil???
Thank you Mike for clarifying. I was pretty sure that was the case but wanted to be sure I wasnt missing anything. tyring to juggle work and VU at the same time lololololYes. Thanks @Dr3d, I did read that 2.5 is the max. I've done some reading on the TI wire but not enough yet to make the switch. I have the SX M which from what I have learned will do TI once the upgade is done. I still have some learning to do with the temp offsets etc with TI vs Ni200.I understand. I have about 5 rolls of Ni200, but I've never made a Ni200 coil. I have a known allergy and my first TC landed as the Evic VT which immediately woke me up to the utility of Ti Gr1. So, I haven't looked back. The Evic VT was moved to backup when my Boxer (dual battery sx350j) landed last week. I'm using Ti on the Boxer with a temperature setting offset to get the vape I want on the mod which is programmed for Ni200.
Ti gets more resistance per linear foot, so it does make it easier to achieve spec resistance for dual coil builds. If you're figuring on fitting Ni200, do figure on a 2.5mm mandrel 'cause the deck won't fit larger diameter coils - I did try.
Yeah, I'm confused now, that's what I get for working and forum(ing) at the same timeAre we talking about the goblin now with this build? I presume so since the billows v2 is dual coil???

Billow V1- one of my favorites. Still use it daily. I have one with nickel and one with kanthal currently
Goblin (v1)- Never liked it much. Airy, lacks flavor, build deck way too small, wicking is a PITA. Nickel didnt help. I dont know what all the reviewers were raving about.
Goliath v1- Great tank. ease of use is top notch. Very good flavor, high wattage capable, chucks monster clouds on a mech.
Billow V2- See comments above. All day tank since I received it from the first pre-order. Love.
Silverplay V2- Nice vape. Had my brother's for a few days and did a review on it in another thread. Pricey, and not without it's drawbacks. Flavor is not equivalent to the Billow 2. More airflow, and capable of higher wattage, though.
Zephyrus- Premade coils suck. RBA deck was too fussy (and hot) with kanthal. Easy to fill. Great airflow. Nickel build woke this tank up! 30 gauge, 10 wraps, 2.5 mm spaced... 50 joules, 450 degrees. Flavor is not outstanding but some vendor juices with higher flavoring content than my DIY juice taste great.
Goliath II- a definite improvement over the V1. A very similar vape, but ease of filling and juice/air control are improved. Comes with premade coils now which I havent tried, and comes with a plug to use a single coil setup like the goblin mini. I run dual parallel 26 gauge, 2.6 mm, 8(16) wraps in this too. Excellent tank.
Goblin Mini- a major improvment over the v1. I run this at 50 watts all day with a 10 wrap 26 gauge 2.5mm dual coil setup. The airflow control is nice. Tighter draw than previous goblin (slightly tigher than billow v2). Excellent flavor. 2nd best flavor in my collection. wicking was easy and I havent had any leaks yet. It's simplicity is one of the coolest things about it, but the tiny build deck and the screw hole bottom fill are big time drawbacks.
I'd rank my favorites currently-
1. Billow v2
2. Billow v1
3. Goblin Mini
4. Goliath v2
5. Silverplay v2
6. Goliath v1
Sounds like you and I are after the same RTA. When my Lemo 2 works it works great, when it doesnt it is the biggest POS known to man. You have to have it screwed together with the perfect amount of tightness or it wont wick or it leaks right out through the base. Getting the wicking down does take some patience and trials. I endured them and it does vape great but then with the small capacity and top fill being a real PITA (its so tight it normally loosens the tank and then it floods) I thought it best to look for something else which brought me to the Billows V2. I love the vape you get with the Lemo 2 it was just difficult for someone like myself who has very little patience for less than perfect gear in 2015.Something like a eleaf lemo 2 that wicks properly with a tad more airflow would be perfect.
It didn't have enough airflow for me to bother with it.When my Lemo 2 works it works great, when it doesnt it is the biggest POS known to man. I like a tighter airdraw on my vape so that wasnt so bad but I can see where most people would hate the restrictive airflow. It didn't have enough airflow for me to bother with it.

Doesnt that just suck when you have high hopes for something. You read all the great reviews, buy it, wait for USPS then it sucks balls.... ughMine was repurposed as landfill material.
Eventually someone will come up with something . The monster kayfun was another I had hoped would fill the void and unfortunately its heading to the same fate.
I've learned to expect crap and be happy when its notDoesnt that just suck when you have high hopes for something. You read all the great reviews, buy it, wait for USPS then it sucks balls.... ugh
So we keep on in search of what satisfies our individual criteria. Its a hell of a ride, fun at times and sucks at other times lololololol
I did see that Morph tank. Just couldnt get past the visual unappealing look to it. Least in my opinion lolololLooks like the Morph Tank would be a good single coil RTA for nickel builds. Not a big fan of the lightning bolt design on it though. I hadn't even heard of it until today but it must have been out for a minute, there's a handful of reviews for it on eciggity's site. I've been so underwhelmed by temp control though so I having a hard time pulling the trigger on a single coil RTA. Otherwise its basically a single coil Billow V2, same air flow control and fill method as far as I can tell.
I guess I might be a vape snop if I like my vape gear to look AND work greatI'm with you on that, the more I look at it, the fuglier it gets!
Yea. I just can't feel the love for it. Poor little tank I'm sure others will show you the love lolThat morph tank looks like a morphadite
