Replying to the initial comment, I see where you're coming from... However... wouldn't that same poster possibly be offended by another person starting a new post with an identical recipe to theirs? I have posted variations of a recipe I have seen within the same thread but in my case it's using different brands/percentages. I wanted to give the viewer options as to what to use as many people don't have a vast arsenal of every brand of flavor. Just trying to give you a different view of what may be happening/the reason behind it.

It was not my intent to start such serious feedback. I only wanted toshare insight to the the other side of this. Being a fairly new DIY'er I have combed through the diy forums for recipies that I would like to try and for recipes that aresimilar with different ingredients from different flavor makers bcause I'm in germany and sometimes cant find what I wantor need and the choices given by different posters helps out. I see everyones viewpoints that have responded so far to huck and following posts and respect them.This place has so great people.

After that, another fairly unrelated recipe was posted and the rest of the conversation was about that recipe. I don't really care that someone else posted on my thread, I was just hoping SOMEONE would actually try my recipe and give some feedback. I don't know if the follow up recipe had anything to do with people not trying mine, but it didn't help.

No problem. I just want to throw one more thing out there: it seems to me that all of the experienced mixers on here are pretty dedicated to helping us newbs out and I am very appreciative of that. I don't think anyone's intention is to do anything to hinder our growth, but you've brought up something that people do without realizing they may be having the opposite effect of their intentions.

See, here in lies the problem. I don't have any problem at all with suggestions and advice, but when someone else posts a recipe in OP's thread without even had time to TRY the OR (original recipe), then that's just bad form. You can't just look at a recipe and say, "oh I know what that tastes like". These flavors that we use can take on entirely different flavors when combined. If you're hell bent on posting your alternate take on the OR, then at least take the time to MAKE the OR, so that you know what the hell you're talking about.

What bugs me is when there is a topic on a recipe and someone else pops in and says here are all my flavors, give me a recipe, totally unrelated to what is being posted. Now that is a rant, not what I see Smoky Blue doing, but Istand was not cool. This has me thinking, if you are picking on someone trying to help, even if it is sharing a simular way of doing things, what will be done if I screw up? I am here for both equipment and recipes, and if someone dumps one or 50 in a thread of mine, I would be very happy. I certainly would not cry foul. If anyone does have those tobaccos recipes, I would appreciate it, I already sent her a conversation? I will think long and hard on what I post before I post so no one will ever have a complaint against me, if I have anything to contribute. Thanks for my 2nd post, will be reading and hope to learn more.

I'm not sure if smoky tried it or not, but I was happy to have her input (she makes a lot of tobaccos, so I was hoping shed comment). Her recommendations were simple and she never guaranteed it would improve the recipe; I was looking for some pointers and she gave them, which was much appreciated.
I was just pointing out this experience as a thread being derailed by additional recipe posts. Not trying to point fingers or sound unappreciative.
