Marvel Studios' standalone Black Panther will begin filming in January, according to an announcement made at the Marvel Studios panel today at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.
Ryan Penagos, VP of Marvel Digital Media confirmed as much on his Twitter account.
That wasn't all though; producer Kevin Feige also brought out several more cast members, revealing them for the first time. Lupita Nyong’o will play the role of Nakia (a character fans will know by the alias Malice), Danai Gurira is in as Okoye. and finally, Michael B. Jordan, will play Erik Killmonger. That last one isn't really a surprise though, as the Creed actor had already confirmed his casting in June
