With Black Sails' 25th installment, the stage seems fully set for the Season 3 endgame. Flint and the Island Queen are in agreement over a plot to use Anne's gems against Woodes in order to draw him out into battle while Silver began his decent into darker, murkier waters as the man who will eventually be known as "Long" John Silver.
One of the most surprising things about this episode was seeing how aligned the pirate side was. Usually, on a typical Black Sails, there's an abundance of diverging plots and schemes. The story is usually ripe for a backstabbing. But here we really did see a united front on Flint's side. The fact that Vane is now really invested in rescuing Jack - when he could have just easily taken those gems himself and delivered them to Flint - is pretty huge. They are actively trying to rescue their parter. Sure, there were also tactical reasons for not taking the loot right then, but the loyalty to Jack is still a great thing to behold.
