Blunt Talk’s debut season continues on strong with another hilarious episode. Picking up right where the pilot left off, Walter Blunt wakes from a near-death experience (and a rather pleasant dream full of showgirls and dance numbers) rejuvenated, bound and determined to be the father figure that America needs. With an assignment to head down to Texas to cover a fluke hurricane (“Anderson Cooper isn’t the only silver fox that looks good in a rain slicker!”), Walter is set to deliver the truth and hope, two things that, as his team points out to him, don’t often go together.

The series of obstacles that Walter encounters in this episode range from the familiar to the surreal, running the gamut of problems that are both relatable to us and are not. For instance, his battle with the automated flushers and sinks of the airport bathroom is hysterical and undoubtedly hits close to home for any frequent flyers. Walter’s musing of frustration – “I have been betrayed by the FAA and modern bathroom technology!” – is an all too familiar lament, brilliantly delivered by a committed Patrick Stewart.
