Boreas leak-HELP

ive tried three times to rewick. Lost lots of juice. Why can't I wick this thing so juice doesn't come out of air holes? Do I need to wick like aromaizer? Or do I wick like an RDA? Right now I just have cotton touching the deck, not crammed in there. It leaks out of air holes like crazy. Thing is I have had some great vaping off it but I carry a paper towel around it. gotta 5 wrap Clapton .35. Vaping around 80 watts. Max VG. Trying to close off 2 holes. Tried closing all but 1. Then tried 1/2. Lol. Leaking everywhere. I'll check o rings next. Any suggestions?

Like the Aromamizer. Basically instead of just touching the deck like an RDA, extend a little further till the two ends of the cotton touch in the middle making a nice little bed underneath (but not touching) the coil.

Wouldn't that be similar to the build I have shown? I think I must've lost an o ring or something. I got the gold AFC to it to make purdy.

Can't really tell from the picture (it's juicy and shiny) but if that's how you did it, yeah I'd inspect o-rings to make sure it's not that, then try with more cotton on the deck.

I cut my wick pretty long, thin the ends (rayon), and then make a nice little bed under the coil. If I don't turn it upside down and fill according to the instructions, though, it does leak!

Something so simple. It must create a vacuum. It's hitting really well. Kinda feeling sick on stomach, tank is almost empty again. Man......it's going through juice. Nic sic...............

Thanks Amanda, that did the trick. Now that I went back and read instructions.........inverted the tank.........wah la..........it's not gushing.

It allows you to release air pressure and "burp" it. Glad you have it sorted now. I wrote the owner's manual. And show a build and filling tutorial with pics on page 1 of the Boreas thread here.

I'm usually one to ignore manuals (you know, Y chromosome and all) but I did read this one and was glad I did, it makes sense and works.

We figured it would be helpful if I wrote it, seeing as how English is my first (and only) language. I'll be doing Merlin's as well.

ugh, I just got a credit card (and hell if I'll use it without knowing how it's set up) that came with a fucking novel. Now I have the Merlin to look forward to!?! You need to include some drama, some action, make it entertaining, I love books, but manuals, ARG! :giggle::giggle::giggle: (now I'm just imagining a guide written in the perspective of a young traveler picked up by an experienced group giving him the rundown while they're being cornered by the terrorist group "Leakage" :p)

Provided Merlin tests well for me, we are going to begin production quickly. I might have a day to write the manual.
I kid of course, you and Augvape keep doing what you're doing. I'm just sad I have like 20 pages of technical jargon to read for this damn credit card (I hate credit card, but I gotta buy into the system if I want to be able to get a loan for a house eventually).

The way I wick the Boreas is to wick the coils like an RDA, and then lay the tails down on the deck and then gently push them flat down on it and just very gently push a little into the juice flow holes. Works great for me, and I only ever had a problem with leaking when I fucked up filling it.

My filling technique is basically how it says in instructions. I close the JFC almost totally shut, just leaving a sliver of a hole open, then take the top off, fill, and close the top. Once the top is far enough down that the o-ring is making contact I flip it upside down and finish closing it quickly. Then I open the JFC, let it sit a second or 2 and maybe a lil swirl, then flip it back over. Never have a problem with leaking anymore.

Yeah, you do. When I bought my house the bank was concerned I paid mine in full every month. They wanted to see a balance and payments. They didn't seem to care I had a car loan and had made 3 of 4 years of payments

My mother's friend is the best example. Got to the age of 40 never taking a loan, simply earning money and paying what was due. Went to buy a house, denied, had double the down payment (and more) but just basically no credit activity, so they said no. She had to spend the next couple years building that up to be able to get it done.

Was just thinking when I used the word "ass"...being STRICTLY forbidden on that other site....unbelievable.

Even "various letters" trying to disguise the word "ASS" are strictly forbidden. What a breath of fresh air this site is......:stars:

I thought I had looked through that thread. It's pretty long. I skipped over parts and must of missed it. Main thing ---- it's working great. I love it. Look forward to Merlin now.

I have used the "burping" method and have had it leak only a couple of times, but not too bad. It's very possible I didn't drain the chamber enough before closing it. I also had a couple fairly substantial leaks if wasn't careful adjusting the AFC and the bottom cap loosens at the same time, but I attribute that to user error. If I don't let it get below about 1/3 full, I can just close it off completely, fill it, and throw the cap back on with no issues. I found this to be the quickest and easiest so far for me. Aside from a few leaks after easily running 200+ ml's through it, I still LOVE this thing. All of my other neglected tanks and RDA's are really upset with me right now.

Still have leaks but not AS BAD. I have to keep it straight up, if it tilts, it still leaks. Oozes rather through AFC. I have read all instructions and looked over the thread. I haven't seen a manual on it. Lol. I did see a couple pictures. I carry my vap everywhere, usually in my pocket. I fell asleep holding it last night and it leaked all over my shirt. I WANT this to work. It's th best flavor, clouds in a rta ever. Going to replace the whole build again. Use more cotton. If this doesn't leak with y'all.......it must be a something I'm doing.

No, it doesn't. I've thrown it in the bottom of my purse.

Debbie, try using the 2mm hole deck. Also check your o rings are all there and in good condition. Some of the early ones had horrible o rings on them. Also make sure your wick covers the deck.

It's gotta be build, oring tolerance, juice viscosity, or something. Mine doesn't leak, at all. Sitting on its side on my stomach right now, and my tshirt is spot free.

Im testing that shit now myself lol. Ive had this thing upside down, on its side, backwards, upwards, sideways, in parallel dimensions, and even let Micheal J Fox hold it, and it never leaked that I noticed (since I sorted out the fill technique.)

yes, you can lay it down, but it doesn't mean it won't leak, it doesn't matter how you wick it, what pg/vg u use, it will leak IMO...
Shut ur JFC/AFC then fall asleep lol

I could make a video of my mod sitting on it's side right now, on my stomach, while wearing a grey t-shirt. Been like this for hours. Not a drop lost.

Large holed deck, larger jfc openings, afc/jfc wide open.

I'm having the same issue with mine. It's interesting, because the first two weeks with my Boreas were completely leak-free. I can't seem to figure out why it's leaking out of the air holes like crazy. It only happens when it's on its side or in my pocket while sitting down. I've even tried closing the AFC/JFC completely and putting it in my pocket. It still leaks. I went on a brewery tour on a bus yesterday and the fucker just kept flowing juice into my jeans pocket. I got home and my underwear was soaked with juice. It's really disappointing.

I fill it as the directions specify and that doesn't seem to help. When I tip it over and close the top all the way, juice leaks out of the 510 tip, so I have to fill it, tip it, close it quick, open up the airflow, flip it back over, and vape the hell out of it instantly to avoid leaks after filling. Sometimes that doesn't even work though.

I was cleaning it a couple weeks ago and dropped an o-ring in the sink. I had no idea where it went, but I guessed it went into the bottom cap (small o-ring). Perhaps this is it, and it shouldn't go there? Is there a diagram somewhere that shows where all the o-rings go on this thing? I might just replace them all.

Thanks, it looks like I have them all in the right spots then. I cleaned it all up, rebuilt it (along with new coils and wicks). I actually trimmed my wicks a bit more this time, but they still fill up the juice well. I filled it per instructions, and it wicked up nicely with no leaks. I'll see how it goes over the next couple days.

Let me know how it goes, and if you need help.

So since my last post in this thread (2:18pm) I have left my Boreas (75% full) sitting on its side with the JFC wide open and with the largest juice flow deck installed. Its been almost 4 hours now and not a single drop has leaked out. Not a drip, drop, ooze, or speck of juice has come out, nothing. The side is bone dry.

Max VG?....I haven't had any leaks, just a dry hit once in a while if I don't allow the juice to keep up with my vaping.
