Bought premium juice from B&M...then they did this...

A few months ago I was still going to B&M for juice (I DIY now) and this just popped in my head and I've been meaning to ask about it.

I bought a bottle of unicorn milk. The guy behind the counter grabs a bottle with a legit looking label but the bottle was unsealed. It had juice already in it, then he puts the nic solution in it. He then explained they do this so they can order the juice in zero nic and then just put in nic when someone buys it.

Is this actually done by vendors? Or do you think they were cloning and selling cloned juice?

No big deal at this point. This is just a curiosity question.

You're talking actual Unicorn Milk, as in packaged and sold in a Cuttwood bottle?

Sounds highly suspicious to me - there's an off chance the guy could have been buying 0 nic so he wouldn't have had to pay to stock a full line in different nic levels, but there shouldn't have been room in the bottle to add any extra nic base. Not to mention, with a high-VG concentration and zero room in the bottle for shaking, how did he properly mix the nic into the liquid? I put every single bottle through a heat bath to thin the VG enough to properly mix nic and flavorings, not something that can be done with a quick squirt of nic base (and who knows where it was sourced from, there's a HUGE quality difference between the lower end and upper echelon nic suppliers).

I have no idea what was in that bottle you bought, but I'd be ready to name and shame anyone that would do that...and I'm sure the manufacturer would be interested in hearing about your story...

Hi Dave. Yes. Basically these guys dont have all their bottles on display on shelves like some shops. Most juice is in back. But they had one display with a few cuttwood UM bottles. I had a free 30 ml bottle coming to me with their frequent buyer program. He then grabbed and, explained it, added the nic (one assumes) and that was it. I thought it was odd but it was free, technically, so I guess I didn't bother at the time.

I know they clone popular brands, so it's possible it's their juice....but I wonder how they wouldve gotten the labels.

I have not and never will buy juice that is mixed at a B&M, even if they mix it right there in front of me, as far back room mixing, how would one know what the conditions are back there. most shops I have been in , the employees have no idea what they are doing. Closed sealed juice vendor bottled juice is all I would purchase ....but that is just me.

there shouldn't have been room in the bottle to add any extra nic base.

If using standard eliquid bottles, there should still be a few ml of room left unless whoever filled it put too much in it.

These bottles are all filled with water, measured via syringe and beaker, and even weighed. These bottles make it easy to sample recipes, just add flavors and fill to the line.
30ml glass dropper bottle with 30ml water, looks like it can hold 32-34ml (possibly more if you count the volume of the dropper itself)
30ml Cylinder bottle isn't standard (it's the style I use), but is filled with 30ml water with markings every 10ml, it can hold over 35ml
30ml standard eliquid bottle with with markings every 10ml, it can hold around 32-33ml
10ml standard eliquid bottle with a marking at 10ml, it can hold 11-12ml

Not in the picture, but a standard 15 ml bottle with 15ml of water in it fills it to around 3/8th inch below the cap. Leaving room for 1-2 additional ML.

I've heard of this being done a couple places but I don't think it's common. I've never had that happen when I buy juice at my B&Ms

I had this happen a couple of weeks ago. Went in to grab a bottle of The Milkman and they grabbed a bottle of zero nic, opened it and mixed the 3mg I asked for. Was actually something I was wondering myself, but I am fairly new to the B&M vapeworld so not sure if that was standard.

Unicorn milk + greed = Unicorn clone + nic

Even if it was true (which is not) it would dilute the original e-liquid.

I would seriously ask what the fuck are they doing then walk out.

I have to respond here because I read this like a week ago and thought hmm thats odd. Same thing happened to me today! I got a free premium 30ml for my birthday from little rewards program. She asked me what nic, then grabbed a 0mg bottle and went in the back. I asked if she just added nicotine, which she did. There were clearly 3mg bottles in the case. Me being passive in nature, I just said ok and left. Why would they possibly do this? This was not a house juice, but a sealed premium bottle.

Anything that does not have it's tamper proof seal intact refuse it, the seal is there for a reason. To be honest I would contact the juice manufacturer and let them know what is being done with their juice. This significantly affects the quality and I'm sure they would like and need to know what is happening to their brand

I never had this happen, but when I first started vaping @ 18mg, I went to a local B&M and wanted to buy a bottle of juice. They didn't have it in 18 and the owner said, no problem, I can add some nic. I asked if that would dilute the flavor and he said no. I highly doubted that and told him no thanks, He got pissed because he'd already opened the bottle before I said no.
