I have the Morpheus Subohm Mod kit and using a UWELL Crown tank with .25 coil.
After two days of vaping - probably vaping about 30 hits over the course of the day, I am getting a burnt taste. Can a coil burn out that fast?

Several things can cause this right off the bat.

Vaping at too high of a wattage or taking a dry hit will make it taste burnt.

What wattage are you vaping at?

Are you vaping your coil that high?

That is probably waaayyy too much and is why you have a burny taste :(

Try changing the coil and starting much, much lower.

When I'm trying new coils, I start as low as it will fire at. Gradually turn the wattage up by one or two increments until you hit your "sweet spot"

Good luck with this!

The Morpheus auto adjusts the wattage - I cannot control the wattage

I should have checked - is it the mechanical tube?

I hate to say this, but that is not a very good beginner mod or mod for a tank with prebuilt coils.

Is there any chance you can get a different mod, like now?

This is a dangerous situation....

If your juice is too high VG it will happen as well, regardless of which tank you use.

Hmmmm - I am not technically savvy so I do not want to get into adjusting watts and volts and building my own coils. The Morpheus has been great - this issue with the burnt taste just happened - it has not been an ongoing issue

When the coil is new it tastes amazing - just seems it gets burned out quickly. I am using Cuttwood Unicorn Milk 70VG/30PG 1.5mg nicotine

I did rinse it out last night with water then re-primed the coil again this morning - would water cause the burnt taste???

Can you explain that?

Plenty of folks vape 100% Vg without burning issues :)

The problem here is using a mech mod with a tank without proper experience or knowledge base.

I hope you know I'm not trying to be snobby or mean here :)

Mechanical mods take way more knowledge and tech savvy to operate safely than regulated mods.

While mech mods seem simple on the surface, they are very dangerous if not operated correctly.

That burn you are getting on the coil tells us right there that the mod is operating too hot for the tank = danger.

Sounds like the stuffs of lawsuits to me - that is very irresponsible marketing and a great disservice to you.

Don't know if that is from the seller or the packaging from that mod but it is incredibly misleading and dangerous to you as a consumer.

What brand of battery are you using btw?

What battery are you using?

You should talk to experts that can give you a very clear picture of how wrong that review is and how dangerous that mod is without proper understanding of its function

@Zamazam

It's an internal USB charged battery

I was looking at the Morpheus mech mods you add your won battery too, which are very dangerous.

This built-in battery morpheus mod, there is not a lot out there on it.

It still looks to me as if it's firing the coils too hot. It tastes burned because it probably is burned.

The crown has a really finicky coil priming ritual that involves way more juice than other coils like it, in my experience. Not priming it enough can make it burn out fast
