Can Anyone Recommend A Good "Spool Saver"?

I'm getting tired of my wires wanting to unwrap themselves from their spools whenever I want to make a coil. Any recommendations for decent spool savers or "hacks" that will keep them from instantaneous unraveling?

I cut into the spool with my clippers and bend the end of the wire into it. Makes the end easy to find, too. I know exactly what you're talking about. I've seen some kind of band and can't remember the name of it. It might be a jewelers thing for wire wrapping.... it's white... dammit can't think of the name.

There was a thread here a few months ago dedicated to this topic, but can't find it for the life of me......

I'm actually looking for something that can feed wire as I make Claptons. I'm thinking (hoping) the Beadalon might work for this.

I clip a ziptie around the spool, I the hole and around through the outside, it'll act like a guide and a stop

I'm not at home to snap one, sorry
but, you just tale the ziptie and go in the center hole and back to the outside. Kind of like a loop. It'll stop the wire from running but you can still pull it off the spool.

If for just storing and putting the wire away, I like to use masking tape.

Yes, I do remember that thread myself, and purchasing this product. It came in a pack of three, kind of rubber band that goes around the spool, with a hole the wire goes through. On the opposing side a "lip", you can hold onto, while pulling the wire. If I'm not mistaken, it was something used for wires used to make jewelry.
