Alrighty y'all. Just to give everyone some background I've been vaping for about 3 months now, I smoked cigs for 2 months before that, and black and milds for 3 years maybe before that. So I've smoked a lot. Anyway, all of a sudden, over the past few weeks I haven't been able to taste anything. No e-juice has taste to me. I've tried pickles, water, brushing my teeth and mouthwashing, nothing. I'm using the SMOK TFV4 tank, istick eleaf mod. What do you guys think? I feel like I'm doomed. Lol SOS. !!! Thanks VU :p

Try different fluid? Maybe a totally different flavor. Try a tongue scrapper. It'll take a lot of gunk off your tongue.

Let it run its course, vape some cheap juice to get by. It will pass:) how long....who knows as everyone is different but no matter what your not smoking so stick with it. Your not doomed give it time.

Good luck!!! I have had it many times and I just vape and let it pass:)

I agree to different e-liquids and totally different flavor. Ideally you have several different e-liquids that you switch during the day, in order to avoid vapor's tongue. I personally have 4-5 different juices.

I've gone from Churrios, to Juice roll upz, to Pebble Doughnut, can't taste anything between the three. This was maybe 2 weeks of rotation between them. I also threw bird brains and ak47 into the mix, and nada.

STAY hydrated. I've tried every remedy known to me, which is like maybe 10 different things. The only thing that ever works for me is time. Let it ride out, it WILL pass and it DOES suck. Big time.

Guys... It's been 3 weeks. I'm an athlete, I work out 5-6 days a week and always stay hydrated, that isn't my issue. Lol, this is so frustrating!!!

Have you tried a completely different flavour? My wife and I have vaped mostly mild fruit flavours. The blueberry, we've found, in particular, tends to fade fast on our tongues. A strong mint flavour, perhaps? (Wintergreen, spearmint, peppermint.) A savoury flavour, such as the Peanut Butter Parfait I'm vaping right now?

Dear God Agar is made out of red algae
Agar is a phycocolloid extracted from a group of red-purple marine algae (Class Rhodophyceae) including Gelidium, Pterocladia and Gracilaria. Gelidium is the preferred source for agars. Impurities, debris, minerals and pigment are reduced to specified levels during manufacture.

I have at least 2 mods/tanks with different flavors I vape in rotation through the day to help avoid flavor burnout, or what some folks call vapers tongue.. It works for me..:)

I toggle between a bunch - pebbles doughnut, juice roll upz blue raspberry, tiramisu, pancake man, churrios, milk man, alien piss, cuttwood bird brains, maybe few more. Still can't taste shit.

I get this regularly as I vape a LOT.

I find the best cure is this-make some juice that is UNFLAVOURED, use that for a few hours, it will seem very strange as there is literally no taste(You will notice even with vapers tongue that there is NO sweetness at all, and realize your olfactory senses are a bit messed up).

Next step I do is make some menthol flavour. Like strong, blow your head off menthol(Its called natural mint what I use). I also smell some coffee grounds-but notice when you have vapers tongue you can't always even smell the coffee, so that step I now miss.

Vape the menthol for a while, and usually its gone within a day.

It's damn annoying when it happens, but I think it happens to everyone at one stage or another, but it seems a strong flavour and scent kind of 'resets' your senses.

The coffee ground trick is a perfume makers technique when they can not smell fragrance.

But, I wish you luck, Its annoying but I guarantee it will go-unless this suddenly happened after a car acccident or something, then I would be concerned.

I just use a reallly strong concentrate called natural mint, which tastes like a menthol, but it blows your head off at 10%. That alone has been enough to 'reset' my senses, but I agree a very strong flavour and smell is what will get rid of this, as it has many times before to me.

Is this a common thing that happens? It hasn't happened to me yet...

It's VERY common. I keep a strong menthol around for when it happens. Vape that for a while (if you can stand it!!) and it seems to work for me. Saw a thread somewhere here that explained that it's less about taste than it is about smell... Next time it happens to me( and it's happened more than once) I'm going to try the coffee grounds thing. Lord knows I always have good strong coffee grounds around️

Hold your nose while trying to taste most anything and see what happens.

Something occurred to me. If vaping can dry out your mouth and tongue, could it not also dry out your nasal passages? And, if so, might that not adversely affect ones sense of smell? Without putting too fine a point on it: I've had symptoms, lately, of overly dried-out nasal passages. Usually that only happens to me when it gets really cold, causing the humidity to plummet. So I grabbed this saline sinus rinse spray I keep around, for when that happens, and started using that a couple times a day. Sinuses feel much better and vape flavours I think are hanging in there better... maybe?

I have had it about 5 times, so it is VERY common, and quite likely you will experience it.

I keep a strong menthol concentrate just for when it happens, use it for the day, then you can taste your juice again-so much in fact, you will probably halve the amount of concentrate you use as it tastes TOO strong.

Yes that is completely possible, it would dry any mucous membrane I guess (that is why you get dry eyes in a real vaped out room), I find at first letting a little out of the nose adds to flavour, but as the day goes on, taste seems to lessen, next day when I wake up I guess my brain has 'reset' in a way and my nose is moist again, and flavour is strong and I can detect all flavours. I Chain quite a lot, so this is why.

I don't actually know a suggestion to cure a dried out nose to be honest, only vapours tongue 'cures' (E.G strong flavours like menthol for the day, or completely unflavoured juice for a while, then you realise even WITH vapers tongue you could still taste the sweetness, just not the subtle notes)

It will trust me especially if you vape only 1 thing or only a few things.
I keep my rotation to at least 30 or more different flavors,it helps but I still get (Vapors Tongue). And when I do get it I drink lots of water with a bit of lemon or orange followed by a small shot of Gin.Then I vape a nuclear option (Crimson King by Gorge Vapors). It will clear up quick then I go to my alternate rotation.

Ah. I have been sampling different flavors and looking to try new things, so that might explain why I've staved it off so far.

I had vapor's tongue once in the last three years. And, it was shortly after I started vaping. It lasted about a month. I tried everything to different juices (some with strong flavors like mint, menthol etc and I bought A LOT of different ejuices), tried different wattage and ohm levels, bought coils, made my own coils, silica wick, Japanese cotton, organic cotton, hydrated like a sponge, different tanks, different mods and nothing. Was one of the most frustrating things I have ever encountered. But, I was determined not to go back to smoking. I could taste my food but vaping tasted like I was vaping wet cardboard. Push through it. It's hell but worth it. I will say a prayer to the Vaping Gods for you and offer a blood sacrifice ( a human sacrifice - I don't kill animals - they are the only beings I trust). Best of luck my friend.

Dang after a week of Vapors' Tongue I'd have been looking to hurt something...But a whole month?? I'd have been looking to check myself into the Loony Bin.

Suffice to say - I was not pleasant to be around.

I get vapers tongue about once a month for a week lol. Time fixes it but it sucks. I make my own juices, and rotate my flavors, but it still happens, and still sucks.

Try throughout the day smelling freshly ground coffee beans. This will reactivate your sense of smell & palate. You can also try shocking your taste buds with a menthol flavor. A strong wintergreen helped for me. Also, brush that tongue and drink tons of water for the rest of your days! VG & PG both act as dehydrators as they pull moisture out. You may not notice it because the flavor profiles may activate your salivary glands, thus making your palete seem wet, but really just dehydrating your body more. At least.. That's my well educated opinion. These things helped me when I got the dreaded vapers tongue many months ago. Hope it helps & sorry if I reposted suggestions

I'm right there. Hope it passes soon.
