My bacon turned out to be TFA, thought it was capella. I wimped out and went for 0.5% as mentioned in one of my three donut efforts. It was the only donut fail of the 3. I wonder if I just got liquid smoke as well as I couldnt actually taste the bacon and I thought joy and a little bit of maple syrup may have sweetened it? I just got a reasonable but dull donutty funnel cake with surprisingly not very sweet maple syrup with a faint fried burnt taste in the background and mine was left for 3/4 weeks steeping. Wasnt an awful donut but the other two I made were far better, think the bacon has failed me too
