Capella Cake Batter- in Need of Assistance

When I first started vaping I ordered a flavor called "Spoonlicker V2" by ITCVapes--described as a strawberry cake batter. After I learned a bit about flavors I figured it must have Caps Cake Batter in it.

Well, a year or so later I finally got around to buying this flavor and it seems to kill everything I put it in, even at low %. It's got a yucky powderiness to it. I'm not one of those people who finds Caps VC "chemically", but this cake batter flavor is just overwhelming! I am hoping there's someone here who knows what I'm saying and can give me some advice on how to make the best use of this flavor. Any thoughts are much appreciated!

I don't think it's just you I can't find a good spot for it either, it's kinda pasty/buttery/kinda chemical but not I guess it's an odd one to explain I guess i would like to know also:)

If your finding it way to strong at low percentages. You could try diluting it in PG and using the dilution as the flavoring. Say 1ml cake batter to 4ml of PG (just an example). Or put it in the back of the flavoring rack and try to forget about it lol :D. Good luck!

aw.. man. I thought of yellow cake and caps custard--and I'll check into that. But there's got to be some way to make from caps cke batter that yummy cake batter-y goodness I once vaped! I can't forget. I'm not ready to forget.

Unless someone has another idea about how to get a cake batter flavor.

mix it half or quarter strength of how ever much VC you use and add some creams to it and something sweet :) . I dont think I use it over 2 % very often if at all.

I had pretty good luck with caps cake batter standalone at 10%. It took a while to steep and for the flavor to come out, but it was just like a 'cakier' caps vanilla custard. Whats interesting is, as a 'higher percentage' standalone, it tastes pretty damn good after a steep, but it doesnt play very well with other flavors when its that high.
I agree with Wllmc. Its best uses are at lower percentages.

I would make a couple standalone testers (one at 5% and one at 10%) and see what you think. If 5 is too weak and 10 is too strong, mix equal parts together and youll have 7.5%. If you get to a place you like and want to try adding supporting flavors, go very slowly.

I have a few recipes that have CAP Cake Batter in them. It is definitely one that needs more than seven days steep, even at lower percentages. None of my recipes have CB over 2%, even my strawberry custard. It seems to add a little body to the custard, and give it a more "thicker" flavor, if that makes sense. At least in my experience, it supplies what is "missing" in a few recipes.

Thanks to all for the collective wisdom. I will begin my experiments immediately!

Man, that flavor is SO not what I was expecting it to be.

I am pretty positive I can't handle it at anything like 10%, considering how I reacted to a recipe with 5%. (blegh!) First, I will try combining it with Vanilla Custard at a low percentage, with other creamies, as suggested. If have any results worth writing about I will stick them here.

Cake Batter is pretty overpowering and I'm another one that uses it at 1-2%.
Could be you just don't like that flavor?

I've read about mixing FW Yellow Cake with "something else" to get a "cakey" flavor.
Can't remember what the other thing was though ATM.

FA Pandoro & VZ Sponge Cake are supposed to be somewhat like cake too.
(Think I get more of a vanilla than cake though).

NF makes a Cake Batter too, and it seems to be different than CAPs.
Just got it though so I can't really say too much about it yet.

I only just got CAP CB and so haven't had a chance to play around with it much yet, but I quite liked it as a standalone at 3%. Thought it had a nice "cakey" flavor, and was sweeter than I'm used to (I'm only just starting to experiment with sweeter flavors), but not overly sweet to me. This was a small 5ml tester, 70% VG with 14mg MFS nic. An hour or so in my hypersonic cleaner, then let it sit for a day or two. Just this little test got me excited to start trying it in mixes.

Sad to say I'm finally coming around to that conclusion, but there's still a whisper of hope.
I will give the NF version a try sometime.

CAP Vanilla Cupcake is lightly cakey and works well with fruits. Plays well (in minor percents) with FW Yellow Cake for me. The TFA Vanilla cupcake is not as good as the CAP IMO but that is what they might be using as well if it's an older commercial juice. Commercial makers like to use TFA, CAP & FW as they can get the stuff in by the skid load vs us in the DIY crowd that buy the "boutique" flavors.

If it's "buttery" it's likely the "bad" old v1 or non-DX versions.

Cake Batter is a snarly beast that like to take over stuff.

What's a boutique flavor?

The stuff you can't get in bulk or have to employ the translation staff from the UN building to get imported in. It's no big deal for us to wait on a flavor. If you had to wait on something as a commercial producer, you'd be out of business soon.
