caught on fire

I had a bad day... First, I get hyped up about my adaptor adapting it to my eleaf 10 watt with some EVODS, then my eleaf 10 watt isn't firing the tank anymore. Tried everything on it and they all work with other mods.

Then, I try my Sigelei 150 with my Genitank. I forget exactly what happend. But it was not working. And then I went to change batteries, I THINK. Then, when I started to pull the batteries out, it smoked real bad, and I could immediately right then tell that my device had slowly began to catch fire. It was probably on fire for like 3 or 4 you know close to 5 seconds. I could not fix the problem so it stayed burning. Eventually I just snapped the cord that you hold your batteries in with and pulled the batteries out completely.

Shortly after that I put the back in. I thought my 150$ device was done for. Sigelei popped up on the computer screen so I sighed a sigh of relief. The I went to turn it on and it was dead. "5 clicks." "5 clicks." Nothing. It doesn't even fire sigelei across the screen anymore, and I just got some mod skins in for it. I'm totally disappointed and tempted to just throw it away. It's ruined.

My mod probably was just about to explode. Could have caused a huge BOOM! Any ideas what happend and what may have happend?

My guess would be it is a poorly made mod...

How long have you had it for? Many people have had that box for some time, but perhaps yours is still under warranty?

Which model Sigelei? Where did you buy it from? When? Where was it smoking from? How do the batteries look? Are the wraps intact, or are they beaten up, nicked, ect?

Sorry for all the questions, but there's a bunch of information left out that makes it hard to assist.

I've had it for like 4 or 5 months now. Thanks for the reminder of the warranty, totally forgot hopefully I can get my money back.

The model is just Sigelei 150. Non temperature control. Silver. I bought it from Dr. Vape It's they have a website: www.drvapeit.com. Like I said this was bought about 4 months or so ago. It was smoking, as far as I know, from the point where the battery connects to the brass looking connectors that connect the battery to the Sigelei. It started smoking I think from down inside the holes from inside the mod, if not, I was very scared that it was because it emitted a whole lot of smoke and I could have swore there was so much of it that the entire box just about to catch fire. The batteries look perfectly fine I believe. I could do a double check to make sure but as far as I am aware the batteries suprisingly didn't take any kind of abuse. The wraps around the batteries are fine.

I'm definitely phoning that vapor store I bought it from. Hopefully they can give a warranty on it.

You'll likely have to go through Sigelei directly to get the warranty fulfilled (you'll need the original box and receipt). Most stores only warranty for 7 days! Good luck, and let us know what happens!

BATTERIES
This happened to me with my Cana mod, my 18650 wrap was torn and it created a spark while inside the mod?
My question is
WHAT BATTERIES WERE U USING?

No matter how strictly quality testing is performed, electronics can malfunction and defects can slip through.

If the batteries are still in perfect condition (proper voltage, no damage to the wraps) then my guess would be something shorted inside the sigelei.
Had you dropped it at all? Might have cracked a circuit board or a component on the circuit board might have come loose causing a short.
Had it leaked at all resulting in liquid getting inside (like on the coils in to the bottom right of the battery compartment)? Could cause a short.
Did you have it in a cold environment for an extended period of time then bring it into a warm environment before trying to fire the Genitank? Condensation could have caused a short.

Might as well get this question out of the way as well:
What ohms/watts were you vaping at?
Op said
He tried to pull the batteries out then it started SMOKING
He probably have batteries in the box just sitting there for a long time...
Did you really wanna quote me?

Is it possible juice got into the mod's internals? That's the only reason I can think of, other than a circuit-board malfunction, that it would start smoking.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: These lithium cells store a God-awful amount of energy. At the first hint of something not behaving just as you expect: Expect the worst.

No, didn't have to. Was just following a logic pattern that, actually, doesn't seem so logical now.

I did like your question though. Critical part of this.

I had a dud sig 150 also. From district 5. And they didn't honor their warranty. They need to work on their QC

The sig 150 OG had a ninety day warranty from Asmodeus. 5 months later there's most likely not going to be any coverage on the device. A real manufacturers defect of that nature would most likely have shown up much earlier, unless you don't use the device much. I'm guessing there was a drop, spill, or rough treatment involved here.
