I hate to think that these deaths usually occur in threes.

Dang! I absolutely loved him with Bruce Willis in Hudson Hawk... one of my favorite movies truly.

Tommy Five-Tone!

And he seemed like he was a nice guy off screen. That’s a fun movie. Bruce Willis is really good, too.

Been a rough few years for drummers.... Hated losing Vinnie Paul Abbott but losing Peart is heartbreaking. At least we know there is some great percussionists to go along with the great guitarists we already lost. Should make for some awesome entry music for us when we get to the Pearly Gates.... RIP. You will be missed....

Just heard about Neil Peart today... I am absolutely crushed. That was probably my most-fave classic-rock band EVER. And I was always a little bit proud and a little bit ashamed that I look so much like Geddy Lee, I could be his damn sister! Though his nose is a bit more hooked than mine... not by much!

Miss ya, Neil... for always.

I must just be unamerican.
or maybe unhuman?

When Bryants death eclipsed all other news, my first thought was.
Isn't he a sports figure? Maybe pro basketball?

Yes a tragic thing but those happen all the time.
Just not into hero worship myself.

My sympathy for those who will miss him though.

It's not hero worship for everyone. I haven't watched basketball since the 80's Celtics. However, I'm aware that Kobe was magnificently talented and he displayed those talents for millions to watch for many years. Yes, his death is no more tragic than any other human death. However, he did bring more to other people's lives than most of us ever will. It is not so much because a man or woman died, but that in a world that is made up of mostly mediocrity, it's always a loss for the human race when great talent dies. It is for that reason we mourn the passing of such people.
