Chinese-backed car company Faraday Future showed off its insane-looking FFZero1 concept car at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The car allegedly has over 1,000 horsepower, can accelerate from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds, and can do over 200 miles per hour.
The car may look crazy, but the chassis underneath is the biggest story. Faraday Future hopes to create a production car using the chassis under the FFZero1 concept. Think of the chassis as a modular platform for the car maker to put under any body style, similar to what Tesla did with the Model S sedan and Model X crossover, which share the same chassis. Faraday Future showed how the platform could add or subtract batteries from different areas of the car, changing the balance and power output of future models.
