In the hussle and bussle of the Christmas season some lose sight of what all really happened, I seen this short clip and wanted to share this with you

The Shepherd: A Story of the First Christmas

Wow Jimi, that's the best Christmas story I've ever seen. Most of the narratives give no consideration to the hard, painful labor of giving birth.

Yes, the Jews desperately wanted a messiah to deliver them from Roman occupation, under which they were taxed at 90 percent, and always in danger of imprisonment for some little thing or other. In the new testament much was made of Jesus' descent from the line of King David, through both Joseph and Mary. It's why the three kings, or wise men, came bearing costly tributes. Even with low whispers unheard, the puppet King Herod and the Roman emperor knew these people were receiving their savior king. It's why the holy family fled from Judaea to Egypt. Herod had every male infant born that year killed, to be sure this new king was slaughtered.

I love this short film you posted. It captures the context of the much hoped for and much celebrated birth.
