citric acid, vg/pg flavor?

Is it common for a recipe to call for citric acid? If it is something that is typical what type and where can I get it?

Thanks!

So I am just getting started with mixing my own juices, and I came across a straw nana recipe that mentions using citric acid. Is this a common ingredient? If so what does it add to the mix? What type of citric acid should I look for, and where?

Lastly does vg/pg offer taste? In other words is there such a thing as a high quality vg/pg? Where is the best place to shop for these items? I ask because I of course want to make a solid juice, also I want it to be clear. My brain tells me that when a juice burns dark it's because it's of lesser quality. .

Thanks!

Citric Acid:
"Usually called "Tart & Sour", is used the same way as Malic Acid, to make fruit flavors "pop". Dosage is also similar at 1-2 drops per 10 ml liquid. Higher percentages will impart a Jolly Rancher-like effect.

Citric acid is hygroscopic, meaning that it attracts and holds water. In its anhydrous from, it contains no water molecules. Monohydrate contains one water molecule per citric acid molecule.

I would use malic acid instead of citric acid."

Yes sorry, I had written this earlier, then thought maybe it would be better to ask in a different area. I ordered the malic, rather than citric. I really appreciate the help I have gotten from this forum! I feel like I finally have a direction with mixing. Thanks man..

i was really disappointed with TFA Sour. I don't know, Im sure it was my mistakes, but I didn't get much of a sour kick any of the times I've used it -- including once when I loaded a large amount. Frankly I don't know how one could effectively detect tartness or sourness in a vape, as they should be detectable with the tongue and not the nose. Unless the vapor hits your tongue in sufficient quantities...?

I don't have an intelligent answer for the question. I tend to think it helps accent flavors. I have tried juices that I almost thought there was a little bit of a tart flavor, but I could have been mistaken. All I can be sure of is a recipe that I seen called for it..

@John C Oh, I have definitely had tart tasting, sour tasting vapes...most due to citrus flavoring or tart fruits. I get better results with flavors vs. Additives. Just like spicy vapes, minty vapes...etc. when you inhale that vapor it swirls around on your tongue where your taste buds are.
