It looks so easy on the videos, what's the trick!! Here's my first attempt at Clapton, 32g over 24g. Took my three tries to get enough length to make two crappy 3mm coils. I had a lot of trouble getting the wire to feed evenly and kept over wrapping the same spot. The pace is hard to get down, maybe I need a swivel rig or something similar. This was just by hand.

I use a drill and a swivel, also keeping the wire on the spool when wrapping helps a bit too, I couldn't imagine hand wrapping Claptons

I also use a drill. Have tried all the trucks and this method works best for me.

I've had a very good time with the pen trick, there's a few vidoes on it. I can wrap 2ft in like 5 minutes. It Does not work for fused claptons though haha

Got to start really slow to get it to set in motion and then once it is where you want the wire to wrap ramp up the speed. It is a very intricate process but once you get to the ramped up speed it should be good from there.

Lol, I didn't mean 'by hand'. Yeah that'd be torture. I used only my hand to guide the wire feed. I will grab some swivels this week. I live 3 miles from a Bass Pro Shops, my only problem is I can't walk in there without spending far too much money.

DEFINITELY get yourself a drill. Harbor Freight has a high speed corded drill for like $20. Also, look into getting smaller wire for your claptons, like 36g-38g. There's a huge difference in vape quality/flavor/ramp up time above something like 32. Also thicker outer wire tends to bend the core wire like crazy which adds to the overall frustration of the task haha

This video is for fused claptons, but all the tricks work just as well for a single core clapton:
At the very least it's a great guide for supplies

"The pinch" takes some feeling out, but once you get it figured out, everything becomes quite easy. You lose maybe half an inch before the wire locks into where it needs to be and from there, you'll find your hand advancing along the core on its own. Once you get the position right, the rest of the process is automatic. It just takes practice... ...practice and calluses. The first time I got it right, I cranked the drill up to full blast and got nasty friction burns, but it was a clean clapton once I dry burned the dead skin off!

Also, yes, keep the wire on the spool. It leaves you with one less thing to worry about. The tough part is keeping it all from flying off of the spool and kinking as it gets pulled towards your hand. Personally, I jam a pen through the spool and rest it on a big roll of duct tape. I use neodynium magnets as a clamp to keep the wire still wrapped around the spool taut. Seems a bit ghetto, but I prefer to call it an "elegant" solution.

Great tips, thanks!

Maybe I should have started off with kanthal core myself, I keep snapping the Ni200 cores.

I know this is not the same thing, but I saw Tony on The Vapor Trail Channel use Clapton Wire that was a pre-made spool of clapton wire. It looks very similar to what I have seen Rip Trippers and others on YouTube make by hand.

Yes. I know UD sells spools of Clapton and I'm sure other vendors do too. There's just something satisfying about doing it yourself.
