I have 2 mods that seem to have gotten juice in them. Has anyone ever taken apart a VTC Mini and a Koopor Mini 60w?

I've fixed the wicking issue I was having, but the two mods sitting, now without tanks on them, are leaving a mark on the table from juice.

Thanks for any help :)

I've used compressed air - wonder if the rice trick might apply to e-liquid...

Well it's weird to get to in both of them. In both, it's the opposite side of where you put the batteries, so it's competely internal. Plus, I don't wanna totally kill a mod, lol. I know I've seen a video for the VTC, but it was for other purposes. I haven't been able to find a vid for the Koopor. They work, it's annoying, and I don't want to cause further damage, so I've set them to the side for now.

Get a couple cans of electronic cleaner, the spray stuff used by techs to clean computer boards. Spray in the bottom vents,, put on a paper towel to drain, squirt some into the 510 connector and turn upside down. Works great every time.

So, what did you do? Who knows, even I might have to clean my VCT Mini one day.
I learned how to take it apart by watching this vid.

I'll warn... it did not com apart as easily as depicted, I had to really pull to get it out There are 4 parts that are loose inside (spring cover, spring, firing button, up/down button(s), so as you pull the sled, watch for a spring to come flying out, the cover does not keep it in place. The screws did not come all the way out, so don't sit there unscrewing them forever, like I did, LOL.

From there, I cleaned up the juice that leaked into it through the 510 area, from the body and the board housing.

Much easier than I was expecting, much harder to pull the sled out than this video leads you to believe.

Thanks for reminding me. I should have posted this info last night.

While I understand this stuff can work wonders for many things, considering the places I found juice, I don't think it would've touched the clean up in this. There are no actual vent holes, just the usb por, and I found juice under the spring area that's connected to the 510. No way to get there with the body attached.

Just think that you are washing your mod in a sink of soapy water, the water gets into every nook and cranny to clean.
Well, contact cleaner is a liquid cleaner that evaporates very quickly and leaves no residue behind, so spray it everywhere on the mod, inside and out, it will clean and do no damage even to the screen or plastic parts.

Turn upside down when you spray the cleaner in then. It really does work.

That's my point, there is nowhere to get inside the mod, unless going through the USB, which I would not be comfortable doing. The way I did get in, allowed me to clean up a lot of sticky mess.

Ok, I get what you both are saying. I think there is a misunderstanding on how electronic cleaner works. You can squirt it in a small opening and as long as there is a path for it to drain, either from the same opening, or from the 510, it does it's job and removes the guck and crap and dissolves it and flushes it out.

Either from the same opening you sprayed the cleaner in (using the small straw that comes with the can), or from another opening on the mod. It stays liquid and dissolves the crap on the electronics when its in there, but then it drips out onto a paper towel it evaporates almost immediately. It's a spray solvent in effect (kinda smelly too).

usually the gunk is dissolved and will evaporate through the vent ports.

I'm old school though, whenever I clean electronics, I try and disassemble clean it with dawn and water then reassemble
because dawn is kinda hot
