I just wanted to keep everyone in the loop on the development of the user-customizable Whiteout 150W modular box mod. You may remember the previous post about the CLDMKR Whiteout here on VU or might have seen our past updates on reddit, but if you haven’t heard much about us you can get caught up by checking FAQ update in particular.
As of earlier this week, we’ve completed the manufacturing of our chassis prototype with all the mechanical accessories: panels & L-plates, buttons, and cradle. I posted an initial un-anodized snap of it on our facebook page earlier this week. Please check that out and like, and share our page with other vapers who might like this idea who aren’t on VU. Since that FB post, we’ve gotten the parts anodized, and we've reassembled them to give you the first real impression of what the finished Whiteout will look like (minus the electronics, of course). See the end of this post for the attached pics!
We do want to emphasize that the Whiteout will be delivered as a 100% assembled, finished product that will perform out of the box without any mechanical knowledge or programming required -- but we know a lot of you are looking forward to tweaking the aesthetics and even the firmware most of all!
On that note, we plan on starting the initial functionality tests of the improved Ares 150W chipset design later this coming week, so you can expect a major update about the chip design, performance, and its expanded capabilities & customizability sometime next week! This should be a pretty big update for us!
Also, I wanted to mention that, over on reddit, we’re beginning development of the subreddit community for Cloudmaker users. I know that many here prefer VU to reddit, but I thought I’d still share this because it's central to what our company vision is all about: The community, so we're working together to make one for users to get information on the Whiteout, to discuss new ideas and vote on upgrades, and to collaborate to make the most of its customizable features. We’ll even be working on first-ever projects like open-source downloadable community code modules for the chip & 3D printer schematics for the unit panels or custom chip cradles! If you’d like to be a part of this, email me at [email protected] with your name / username / what you’d like to help out with.
I also promise we’ll be working to provide concurrent updates here on VU whenever we make a major update over on reddit, so you guys can join the conversation from the community where you prefer to post. I will be following this thread to answer questions you might have and hear your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas! Long-time VU member and previous VU moderator @AveysDaddy will also be checking in on this thread to help out as well from time to time.

Edit: Just wanted to add, I'm mostly a lurker here at VU until relatively recently, but I am trying to follow the rules with this post. We're not attempting to sell anything, just looking for community input, opinions, and so forth with this post. This seemed like the correct place to post a thread like this, but if I've made a mistake somehow and the mods feel strongly it belongs elsewhere, then please by all means move it, and I apologize!
