Coil build idea...need opinions

With all the mesh rdas hitting the shelves and tge talk about how flavorful most are, I started wondering about a possible way to use mesh and would like others' ideas on whether or not my idea would work. Im thinking that you could take mesh and roll a a tube of it with cotton in tge center, much like the way someone woukd roll a cigarette. Cotton being tge tobacco and mesh being the paper, and then using one of those coil leg spot welder shocker doodaads to put legs on it. Something similar to how wismecs notchcoil was made. Would this work, has it been done, is it at all a beneficial way of using mesh? Any ideas thoughts or input on this would be great. Cheers.

That sounds like what FireLuke is doing with their prebuilt mesh coils but with the cotton outside. They just need to do it with SS mesh so it can be TC'd.

Rip trippers did a mesh tube coil build years ago.. if i recal it was a hole in post atty and standard cotton wick.. search youtube.

Cotton core not a good idea as the cotton will gunk up and burn... ruining a perfectly good build...
Silica core on the otherhand does work as a wicking core for mesh.
