Which types of coils are you guys having good luck with. Looking to stay around .4-.5 ohms and with a dual coil build.

I usually go for dual 26g. 10-12 wraps around a 3mm. That sits around .7-.75, which is higher than you're shooting for, but honestly, it doesn't need absurd amounts of power to chuck all sorts of warm flavor and vapor.

Dual 24, 11-wraps @ 3mm should read a little closer to what you want, but be forewarned, you need an atty with LOTS of airflow to keep up with that coil. It can get pretty hot.

Yes. It's a series box wired with mosfet. I have a full mech parallel box with no wires as well. Asking for opinions. I am not set on a certain ohm just looking to try different builds and different setups

I too am looking for some good series builds. I have a couple of year's experience building coils for 4.2v and VW devices, but I've never owned a series mod up until recently, when I picked up a Jaybo/WISMEC Noisy Cricket (which kicks ass, btw.)

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised at the relative lack of info on series builds. I'm finding I like mine a lot better than my standard voltage mechs and maybe even my Sigelei 150w TC. I feel like series mechs should get more love than they do. It's just a different set of parameters to play with, but that also makes for some unique sweet spots. I just figured that people who like to tinker with coils would be all over these mods.

Anywho, I'll be doing lotsa series builds for my new little toy, so I'll be sure to keep up with reporting my findings. I'd like to see some more conversation on the subject. Personally, I like a warm to hot vape with lots of dense, smooth/milky, vapor and at least a moderate amount of flavor (the more the better.) This is what I'm shooting for with my series builds.

I just did a dual clapton with 28/36. 9 wraps @ 2mm yielded a .777 (no joke) rig. I've had underwhelming experiences with thick claptons on mechs before, so I kept the gauges pretty high, but I'm now coming to realize that I could have gone lower. A 26/36, 28/34, or even 28/32 probably would have given me better density.

The vapor production on this is respectable, though. It's on par with say, a .2 dual 24 on a standard mech. It was a little hot at first, but mellowed-out signigicantly after a short break-in. Not much throat hit to speak of. The density is moderate in my Sapor. The flavor is up there with that of smaller fused claptons. It's a hot and smooth flavor build. I like it a lot. I do like hot builds, though. An extra wrap or two (or a 2.5mm diameter) might balance-out the temperature and density.

I was looking for one of those tonight, where'd you find it? Seems like they're outta stock at every place i look :(

Also: Grimm Green posted this today, perhaps it will prove relevant to the conversation i just derailed haha

Thanks! I found a shop in Cali that has em. Only took 2 hours haha. I had to do some hashtag snooping on instagram to find it. I Appreciate the link!
Enjoy it when/how ever you get it. I love mine. My one concern with it is that insulator on the hybrid cap is already coming off. I mean, it's just a little silicone ring to begin with, but I'd rather they had insulated the whole battery side of the top cap. I mean, as long as your battery wrap has no holes in it, it doesn't matter, but there's still no reason not to. If the top is exposed somewhere, other than the contact, then it's going to short while you're screwing the top cap down.

That being said, the thing's a little beast. It's gotta be smaller than the evic mini! It hits really hard and the button always works.

Now I'm getting off topic...

...I did a couple more builds since posting the last one. I'm having fun coming up with coils that are completely alien to me.

The first was a .59, dual twisted 28g kanthal - 9 wraps @ 2mm. This one's a bit hotter than the clapton. Faster, too. It has a wet, full throat hit. The vapor production is similar, if not a little less. Density is fuller, but more transient. The flavor is better than the clapton, though it still has that twisted character to it. Wicks better than the clapton, oddly enough.

It's definitely a winner for me. I'm thoroughly enjoying vaping I <3 Doughnuts off of this in my Wotofo Lush run wide open with, oddly enough, the shorty 510 drip tip that comes with it. It's definitely more of a flavor build than anything. It's got that 'push' that aggressively coats the mouth and nearby airways with flavor and texture.

The second was a .5, dual staged coil. 12 wraps @ 3mm. I paralleled a strand of 28g kanthal with 26g for both coils. It's a stupid-wide coil. I've got it in my Twisted Messes and it barely fits well enough for normal wicking, which reminds me, the wicking is flawless - I can easily take a 7-second drag off of this without a dry hit. The coil itself gets HOT, but with with the airflow wide open and the metal chuff top, the vape is just warm... ...not even as warm as a .16 dual 22g @ 4.2v. You can really feel the volume pouring in as you inhale, but the actual throat hit is very weak.

It looks retarded, but it chucks exorbitantly absurd amounts of vapor. Definitely something to take the vape shop for shits and gigs. Blow some people's minds... ...have a laugh at what's under the top-cap.

Thanks man. Awesome help. I really like the staged coils. Feels like its a good mix of flavor and vapor. I did one for my Kennedy and its awesome. Time to pick up some thinner wire. Maybe some 30/32g to play with. If I'm bored ill throw a bunch of builds in. Hit it and if it isn't what I am looking for rip it out and try a new idea
