Generally speaking are you best off going for a SS tank over a coloured one? I worry about the paint dissolving or flecking off over time with the heat involved, or it affecting flavour of the juice somehow and worse yet finding it way into my lungs!

Having said that I prefer the look of a coloured tank
:anyone:

I'm talking about the inside of the juice chamber here rather than the outside

I do have some tanks that are SS, but the majority of mine are black. If it's done right, it's anodized, not paint, and none of mine have ever had any finish issues. I think it's all a matter of personal preference. One thing I can say is it's way easier to see the juice level in my SS tanks than it is with the black ones.

I agree with @Markw4mms it depends how it's manufactured, if it's anodized & not painted. Then there's the tanks that are colored on the outside but inside where the juice is it's stainless.

I would go for the one you prefer mate- tanks aren't that cheap so get the one you prefer :).

I have had issues with some tanks and paint chipping off, but most of my tanks are anodized and not painted, so this does not happen. I imagine that tank to be anodized too, don't quote me on that though. It does look very nice in black.

I've always tried to stick with SS or if colored only SS inside.
I don't mind the gold plated decks or posts though

Ok cool SS it is then lol or at least SS on the inside

So what about coloured glass guys how do you feel about that? Like the boreas for instance can get black, red, blue glass for the tank is it worth avoiding this?

Same thing for the glass. The colored glass can have the color actually in the glass (much more expensive), or simply a coating. I had a BUNCH of colored tanks I had for various atomizers over the years turn into clear glass after the ultrasonic wash. Turns out the color was simply a coating on the inside of the tank. When I saw that it was a no-brainer; I removed the coating on every single one.
