Cable giant Comcast is reportedly negotiating a deal to acquire DreamWorks Animation for over $3 billion, sources said.
Though DreamWorks executives have not offered comment, a source for Variety confirmed the talks. Wall Street Journal originally reported the merger.
Toy-making giant Hasbro had previously been in talks to purchase DreamWorks Animation, but the deal fell through in 2014. Reasons behind the decision were not revealed, though market research suggested Hasbro did not meet the number DreamWorks was looking for, which is a number closer to Comcast's reported $3 billion deal.
