"With Silence and Tears" built on last week's momentum for some storylines, while settling back into tedium for others. Lex continued to struggle with his newfound leadership role, though it was a lot of the same silent contemplation we've seen from him in previous episodes. He and Leo butting heads also got repetitive, as the latter kept badgering the former about being "on the wrong side of history." Seriously, dude, we get it: cordon = bad.
That said, adding Xander back into the mix this week made the scenes outside the cordon a little more interesting and offered several tense moments -- for example, Xander trying to jump the fence and Lex taking him in. And Leo watching Xander's video of his two dead friends was certainly emotional and gave us a glimpse of Leo's vulnerability.
