Hi Dicnolop, I have that problem frequently with Clapton coils, if I am running them too hot, and forget to keep drawing air AFTER I let go of the fire button, to cool the massive amount of wire that is now red hot. I think it's about heat flux. I see you are using 24ga Kanthal, which has quite a bit of mass. I think if you make sure you draw air for a few seconds after you have let go of the fire button, you will see that problem reduced, but not go away. If you don't mind wrapping a 30ga coil, they heat and cool SO quickly because of their low thermal mass, problem goes away. Hope that helps you!

Edit: Oh yah, you might want to switch to Rayon too. I've DEFINITELY noticed that it is more.. forgiving of super hot coils, and durable. Good luck.

First, make sure, that your coil(s) ID is at least 2.5 mm. Second, too much cotton can choke the cotton, thus preventing the juice from getting into the coils quick enough, in order to not burn up. Third, as already mentioned, too much power/wattage.
Personally, in a RDA, I'm using 3 mm ID coils, rather than 2.5 mm.

Will give these a try. On hand i only have 24g and twisted clapton wire(28g kernal, wrapped in 30). will try a new build with the twisted and larger ID and see if the problem goes away. thanks for the fast replies!

I've had best luck with less cotton. I haven't tried larger diameter coils cause I have trouble fitting them on to the deck if you go to big. All of the these theories make sense though!

I also sort of fried an Atomizer yesterday because of the e-Liquid I switched to as the Viscosity of this particular 80/20 is thick. And as Mouneix said keep drawing after you let go is a great reminder!
