Could I be vaping my battery? What's happening?

I noticed right after I charged my battery I started getting this weird taste, it's like a mixture of burnt or metallic, and sometimes that happens with my vaporizer. I'm not vaping anything harmful right? Like from my battery? It only happens when I take long drags

that is when a portion of the coil is getting hot/red before the rest of the coil. When this happens, you need to adjust your coil so that it heats from the center of the coil out, into a uniform hot/red glow. You will need to watch a couple videos that you can find on youtube in order to see how this is done. Most find that strumming your tweezers or screwdriver across the coil will help, NEVER DO THIS WHILE YOU ARE FIRING THE MOD. Here is a video to help you understand.
Thank you to Midwest Vapors for a great video.

The video looks like it shows a dripper mine is the aerotank mega, do you have any tips for those kinds?

are you using a mechanical mod or a regulated mod? If your using a mech mod, the mega is not the best choice for you. If it is a regulated mod, do not go over 7.5 to 8 watts max. Always give your fresh filled tank around 5 minutes to soak up the juices, if this continues @Whiskey was most likely correct, time to change the coil.

ah, Kanger Mega uses coils that do best when used with lower watts. The mechanical mod might be to much power for it. Try putting a kick in the mod.

Ok thank you. And... What's a kick? (I'm new to vaping)

@Logan Schafer This often happens with pre-made coils on a fresh charge. When you first charge your battery... for the first 20-30 hits or so the battery puts out a little more power and this causes that burnt/metallic taste. You should find that after that initial 20-30 hits it returns to tasting normal. This will also happen with a fresh coil.

You could put in the kick.. .but my first question would be what ohm coil you are using?

what is the pg/vg ratio on your juice? The kanger coils sometimes have a little trouble eating high vg mises. Hope you can get this figured out my man.

The ratio is 70/30 I think. I'm not which is vg and which is pg but that what the lady at my local vapor store said

.8 is too low a resistance for use with a kick. If this only happens when you take long hits then what you are experiencing is called a "dry hit". The wicking isn't keeping up and you are tasting some heated wick and not all vaporized juice. Not likely to be anything from the battery. Try a different coil. If it continues then you likely need a thinner consistency juice with a higher PG to VG ratio than the one you are using. You can also try adding a drop or two of distilled water to the tank when you fill it and giving it a shake. If this helps then it's definitely just a little too thick for your coils to wick effectively.
Edit: Just saw the 70/30. That is likely 70% VG. Probably too thick for those coils to wick well. Try the distilled water.

Yeah high VG is probably clogging your coils a little, I still would not recommend a Kanger Mega on a Mech mod.
