Cuboid help-pressure needed to turn on.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all OK, and may be able to help me.

Around a month ago, my Fiancee dropped her Cuboid. It was still working, and seemed like cosmetic damage, but the door was very hard to open, so I dremeled away a small bit of metal that was dented and causing the door to catch.

Now, it opens and closes freely-but, it only works with one set of batteries. With all others, it requires pressure upwards on the door, otherwise it will not turn on.

Pressing on the door causes it to work.
I can not remember if I made a thread a while ago here or not, but someone mentioned the pin at the bottom of the battery door to me somewhere, but that seems to be fine though, and seeing as it is her only dual 18650 mod, she has gone back to using her singly 18650 devices, but misses the battery life of the cuboid and the extra power.

Does anyone have any idea on how I can sort this, as I myself own the cuboid and find it a fantastic mod, so it would be great to get the other one working properly.

Anyone have any ideas, or do you think it best to get a new Cuboid? It seems the battery door is a common issue, I just can't seem to get it working properly.

sounds like a contact got separated or maybe a spring... I don't have one, but if its a spring try stretching the spring out.

I developed the same issue yesterday after having no problem for 3 months. Was working fine in the morning, put fresh batteries in and when I went to use it on the road, it was dead. Good thing I don't need to vape the way I needed to smoke.

When I got home at the end of the day, I exchanged batteries but still dead. First, I got on line and ordered a new one, then started googling. I found issues and a number of solutions, but the best one was taking the screws out and bending the latch, but no tool to do it so I needed a different approach.

I took a piece of tin foil, folded it into a little square and put it on the left battery, closed it up and nothing. Did the same on the right battery and bingo. I wasn't making contact on the right side.

I couldn't see leaving a piece of tin foil floating around in a battery compartment so I pulled out my soldering gun and put a bit of solder on the terminal. A bit to much at first, but I worked with it and got the door closed but still no fire. I put the tin foil on the other battery and bingo, it fired again.

That told me I still had too much solder on the right one. A bit smoothing out of the solder and a bit of filing at it and the door closes snuggly and I have my Cuboid back, plus a backup on the way.

I prefer it to my Sigelies since it's less than 2/3rds its size when out and about so I'm glad it's functioning again.

I managed to get it working again, it was a contact issue.

I managed to raise up the contacts slightly like you did, but I used a piece of plastic, the type from items you can never get open lol(You always need scissors, is kind of crimped around all sides).

It seems about the right thickness, and has been working for a while now. My partner is very happy as her Istick 100TC had a bad failure, and it is her only dual 18650 device.

I also like the cuboid due to its size , and I use mine a lot also for the same reason as you.
