Cuboid Update Fail?

Have two Cuboids and noticed a new update (3.12 for those of us NOT game freaks). Liked the menu differences and was hoping that maybe they did some effort on the occasional drop outs to Watt mode that happen sometimes, so downloaded new update program (allows for custom screen pics) and the software....ran it and everything worked great. Did both units and both are working just great......NOW here comes the problem.....when I went to try and load a custom .bmp, fired up the program, plugged in the Cuboid and ............................nothing its like the Mod is not even plugged in and program (old one AND new one) never recognizes it..neither unit. Shows the batteries are charging but thats all that happens.

Only thing I can think is that with these updates Joyetech either screwed up the new version or they don't intend to allow the updates anymore and rigged the new update to lock them down...

Anybody else have this issue with the Cuboid................?????

Open the update app first and then plug your Cuboid to your computer, see if the app reads your Cuboid.
You can also remove the batteries to update.

Try another cable if you have one, try another usb port, make sure your using the cable that came with the Cuboid.
Are you getting an alert from your computer that a usb device is connected?

Ok went back and put cable in MB USB ports........and it works. I've replaced the USB hub that powers the front USB ports recently and I guess although they have really not been used much something has died in them....they still have power and will charge an item, but the serial and data lines must have and issue...will need to fix in future their damn handy.

Due to location using the back ones are are a real pain......just like making a logo to install on the Cuboid, not really worth it in any case....just like that damn game on the other version..that ain't going happen my mod is for vaping I have a tablet for games if I feel the need.

I suspected that either that or the cable was an issue, but it was way late last night and brain cells were dying....I guess they were a quart low on caffine so this mornings coffee juiced them back up. (Note to self..insure caffeine levels :coffee2: are appropriate for task at hand) So I threw this out so there would be time for a few to respond on maybe something or some secret handshake Joyetech has that I didn't know about.

Worried because when the Mod starts dropping out of TC screwing the tank off and back on doesn't always clear that issue.....what has always worked was a quick downgrade (clears internal register in device I suspect) and reupgrade...problem fixed. It is really strange that Joyetech didn't have a manual method of clearing all settings in the Mod just for these issues.

Thanks everyone....much appreciated:stars2:

I downloaded 3.13, not much into a game myself, but thought it is better to have the latest firmware ahead of the next update Joyetech releases, most likely the clock.

Yea, the clock would actually be a damn nice practical touch......but who REALLY, REALLY is going to play a game (and run batteries down fast) AND vape on the device too....1%??

Much rather they work on improving or add more data on the wire types and prevent the Mod from dropping out of TC so easily....Now that would make sense.

Limited funds here, but really considering putting together the funds and get the RX200 DNA version of the Wismec Mod......but it is so damn pricey......and that cuts into my Vaping World End hording of supplies

If you are looking for a DNA200 that uses 18650's. I'd highly recommend the Hcigar VT133. It's on sale for ~$83 with coupon code: "ILOVEYOU". It uses 2 x 18650 and is capped at 133 watts (all DNA200 mods that use 2 batteries are 133 watts). I have lots of DNA200 mods including the Reuleaux and I would get the VT133 all day long over the Reuleaux. As a matter of fact I bought one and liked it so much, I bought two more for backups.

Why not the Wismec (other than the price) with 3 batteries that can do the full 200 watts..(I know rarely if ever going there)??

Question: Does anyone know if there is software to be able to allow reprogramming the factory parameters in the Cuboid???? I know I can read some .bin files with a couple I have but is there something more user friendly?

Thanks

I'm just not a fan of the form factor of the Reuleaux. It's heavy and not very pocket friendly imo. I also don't think it's built as well - the 510 has given some people problems, not a big fan of the mechanical battery protection rings above the positive posts, and some of the wire is on the thin side (mine hasn't given me any problems but it has been my least used DNA200 because to me it's sort of like carrying around a brick). I also have a few other 3s Lipo DNA200's that provide 200 watts if needed (2 Lavaboxes and 2 VT200's). Lastly, I never go over 133 watts. A lot of it is personal preference.

Cheers,
Steve
