The Dark Knight Returns will be getting a one-shot prequel, DC Comics announced during its "Heroes to the Core" panel at New York Comic Con.
The 48-page book is set to arrive February 2016 and will feature artwork by John Romita Jr. Meanwhile, Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello, who are also working together on Dark Knight III: The Master Race, are writing the story.
"So what John's going to be doing is a 48-page special for February celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Dark Knight, which is actually a prequel for The Dark Knight book, and then we have plans for John following that," DC Comics co-publisher Dan DiDio told Comic Book Resources.
