Powerless has lost its showrunner, as series creator and executive producer Ben Queen is departing NBC's new DC-inspired television series.
According to Deadline, the production start date -- which was originally two weeks from now -- has been delayed in favor of first finding a new showrunner to take Queen's place. Despite the setback, the midseason series' debut won't be affected as the network irons out its scheduling plans.
The departure of Queen was said to be a "mutual decision" that he, the network and Warner Bros. TV agreed upon in light of creative differences. Queen, who also created A to Z for WBTV, will remain employed at the studio as part of his overarching deal.
